Re: League One 25/26 - the Runners and Riders, or Schumacher's First Strike

We certainly can’t ease our way into the season. That’s a tough start.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Thus far we’ve signed a big strapping target man and a 6ft defensive midfield player. We might be going back to being a normal football club. As I’ve said it’s hard to know how signings will go and loads of factors influence it but I feel these are much more likely than the sorts we seemed obsessed...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Have to keep "Absolutely loves it here" Baxter. Above all else he pulled off some very decent saves and is a must for me. Clincher, he's a good keeper. No use wishing for the moon when there are plenty stars in the sky. "Proof of the pudding" etc. :oyea: ae:) The Baxter of last year, and the Baxter...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

* Tommy Simkin (20) of Stoke, whose 13 clean sheets in 39 league two games have helped his hometown club Walsall’s automatic promotion push. Just an aside, but Walsall's collapse in the second half of the season has been astounding: won 3 in 21 and gone from 12 points clear at the top to 4th. Simki...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Indeed. Many people have said they’d be happy to have regular promotion nearly-man Luca Connell back at various times over the last few years. Indeed, I’m sure many now would still rather have him than one of Oxford’s midfielders from last season. Last summer we brought in players with experience of...

Also, I have to say I was one who didn’t want to write players off in Jan. I wanted to give the players time to see if they could turn it around under a new manager and show they can be better. Unfortunately some of them look even worse in recent weeks.

Re: Here Wycombe again. At home to the other Wanderers. V the high flyers, Friday 18th Apr, 3-0 Clock.

First half we weren’t terrible. Probably the better side and we didn’t look troubled. We struggled to create anything though. Second half was just really passive. Overall I think Lolos tried, but it limited and looked tired after 25 minutes. Tutu won free kicks and was our only outlet until he went ...

Re: Yorkshire Relish. Away to Barnsley Sat Apr 12th 3-0'clock.

Genuine question: - People are calling for wholesale change with double-digit numbers of players needing replacing. - People are also calling for a serious assault on the automatics next year (sounds like our first game of next season is already a "must win"!!) Whilst I readily accept something nee...

Re: Trouble at't Mill(ers". At home to Rotherham, Tuesday 8th Apr. 19-45.

Many have said Collins needs to be a starter next season, not for me only if Schumacher can't bring in anyone better. His goals have been vital this season & he's a decent player and could improve more, but he's very frustrating and to me he has a bit of a soft, lazy, laid back, I'm cool, strutting...

Re: Trouble at't Mill(ers". At home to Rotherham, Tuesday 8th Apr. 19-45.

We’re paying the price for 2 consecutive poor windows of recruitment and holding onto Evatt too long. Performance and attitude were great last night. We were undone by our regular tendency to concede soft goals, and the lack of a ruthless instinct at the other end. Realistically how many signings fr...

We give Sheehan enough shit for his defensive efforts but he got back well then to keep it 1-0.

Is this where Randall should be stepping up? Then sitting deep, us having lots of the ball. Isn’t he supposed to have the creativity to do this for us?

We really should be 3 up given the chances we've had. Carving these open, time and time again.
We’re carving them open but not managing to turn those positions into shots. We need to be clinical

Jones giving it away. Sheehan backing out of a 50/50, and we concede.

Re: Pirates off the starboard bow. Home to Bristol Sat 5th April 3-0 'clock.

He’s been abused by our own fans, and struggled having been both rushed back from injury too quickly and made to play carrying injuries in the past 12 months. If he has got a deal elsewhere for next year, I can understand why he’d be reluctant to get back playing now. A quiet 6 months is probably wh...

Sheehan and Randall together is a little light weight. Lots of pressure on Thomason. When do we reckon he’ll pick his yellow card up? I’m going 29 minutes.

Chances of anyone getting a return on their fan bond are looking slimmer aren’t they. Still can’t believe that scheme was allowed.

I can't be arsed looking as stuff like that bores me, but what were the players wages as a total for that period?
I’m sure I read in the article earlier total wages had gone from 12 to 16 million. It was about 75% of the 21m turnover
