A Trialist was all over in the second half. Boom. Boom

He's not getting about as much as he used to. He was practically everywhere a few years ago... :)
Maybe he's a bit older. Legs not what they were.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

It still feels like we're a batter short, certainly, but for me, Jennings feels like back to the Ballance/Vince/Anyone treadmill. Another way to look at his 2 tons is he's scored 30 odd percent of his test match runs in 2 innings :-). On a similar basis you'd probably pick Foakes too as he averaged ...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I'd say Pope is shoo-in for me too at the moment, he looks the real deal and I think an engine room of Root, Stokes, Pope is genuinely exciting. There are a lot of moving parts. Not too long ago you'd have said Crawley or Denley or similar had to play because Root was our best batsman and you neede...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I reckon the shoo-ins at the moment are: Burns, Sibley, Root, Stokes, Anderson, Broad and Archer. I'd probably keep Pope at the mo. I need a bit of spin, so I pick from Bess/Leach (Not sure that's a great choice), so I'm left with two spots to fill from Wood, Foakes, Curran, Buttler, Bairstow, Crawl...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Crawley had one good knock in 4. The other three he was averaging about 7. Because of his age, I'd persevere a bit yet. Not sure I'm being too harsh. Similar with Curran in terms of perseverance,I'd stick with him for a while, he's had better series though. I always struggle in my mind to determine ...

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

We seem to be acquiring "complete midfielders". That conjures up some household names, compared to some we've had recently. I might have to temper my expectations a little :-) But happy with the way we're doing business at the moment.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Came together in the end the Windies couldn't cope with Broad and Jimmy in English conditions and of course Woakes who when its like this is probably close to as good as those two. Encouraging stuff - a good series - its a shame the Windies attack clearly tired and they didn't trust their backup bo...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Well done Broady on 500 Test wickets. No mean achievement. Just hope the rain holds off. Could do with them being 4 down by Lunch and 7 down by tea! :-)

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

WTF are Sibley and Burns doing here? Trundling along. We need to push this game along at a pace. Light will almost certainly curtail today. Tomorrow is a washout. We need a full 98 overs at them Tuesday. We should be looking to go at 6/7 an over or more. This is tedious. Strange question. They're n...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Strange day yesterday, ended up on top on the scoreboard, but it still feels one wicket short of done n dusted.

Good innings from Burns and Buttler, and of course Pope.

Feels a bit scary with Stokes coming in so high up, not because of his capability, but after Stokes always feels like "tail"..

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

No doubt about Stokes - commentator said "he's not entirely sure how that got through" - there was a gap between his bat and pad that Rakheem Cornwall could've got through.

Have they shown the tracking for Sibley's LBW? Looks high to me. Beautiful ball though.
Not seen anything - I think the consensus was knee-roll + on front crease-line = half way up middle stump!
