Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
He had a wobble, in February when he was on about "the world's against me." If he's that fcuking soft, then it's pretty obvious why the team is. Stats <> Bollocks. Days after being beaten (again) in a local derby and the day before a crucial fixture against a then promotion rival: "I've haven't enj...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
That's pretty much the nub of it in an onfield sense. Recruitment, please weigh "a bit of gumption," and a "flash of brilliance" against "plan A" and work out the plus and minuses, instead of spreadsheeting the plusses and hoping it just works. I spoke to one BWFC bod about "character" recruitment ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
What were Pompey's long term injuries? 10? 3 in Feb? It needs different thinking. Some different personnel and a few ounces of nous. Sure, but Pompey are an outlier in terms of injuries and results. Mousinho did a great job. Evatt didn't. That's pretty much the nub of it in an onfield sense. Recrui...

Sheehan spent most of 90 minutes, putting their 9 between him and Santos. It was spookily effective. No one could get the ball to him.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Sorry, that we'd go up... Yup. I thought we would this season and believe that we *should* have and Evatt has to take responsibility. He had a great chance to get the autos and I can work somewhat with the injuries issue, but it was still there to take. The final is another issue entirely. The play...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
You're missing the story, Insano. The engine room is recruitment. It's not there fault if they reccomend botleless fckrs. It's the managers for not setting them up right. Who's said any of that? The players bottled it. The manager fecking it up put extra pressure on them and made them bottling it e...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Stay if he's up for it. Go if he's not. Never liked him as a person, but rate him as a manager. Personality failings have been on show for a few months now. Needs to sort his head out and find the drive to scream into another season. Nothing less than that will do it. We have a better chance of pro...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Even Kachunga had the bollocks to have a go at Wembley. No fear. Losing the pizza cup would've been a "meh" so maybe they played with a little more freedom however yesterday not one of them took a risk. It was a do not lose situation that we all know and love. Helps when the manager sets his side u...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I think we'd been poor before Hird's departure, hadn't we? And in any event, our most glaring failure have been occurring since before this season. Agreed. It's frailty. Can't point to the stat block that encompasses it, so it doesn't exist. Except on too many occasions, a home tie v Barnsley with ...

I agree with you DTM, it's not can't be arsed. I think it's more fundamental. Handling pressure. Needs to be factored into our recruitment thinking, for me. You can have all the skillz, but if you can't bring them to bear, when it counts, you're just a shit spreadsheet number.

It was this year's target...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:26 pmDo you think firmly that target will be met? Because it’s a bit pointless if not. Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Think yesterday spoke volumes. One more year was last year's press release (to which I sorta went "yeah ok"). Worsened the defence, hasn't solved the big problems. No notion of how to recruit players with some balls coz it don't sppear on a spreadsheet. Worst indictment. Most fans knew after 10 minu...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
A lot said in the aftermath. Around keeping Evatt, keeping squad (or otherwise) all very similar to last year. I think some people gave benefit of doubt last year, so THIS was the year and now it's next year. I want to touch on sense of entitlement. I'm not entitled to think we should go up (althoug...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
That was awful. Properly, properly awful. Oxford fans on the tube platform were genuinely mystified by "how shit" we were. They were not alone at all. Tactically... sheesh. Our back three didn't have the stones to pass it forward, but in their (ha) defence they didn't have anybody to pass to. Why? ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Well that was shit, not one shot on target in a playoff final, good lord. I’d keep Evatt though - he’s got one more chance to get us out of this league for me. Recruitment this summer is massive. We need to absolutely nail it. I'm on this train of thought. Plenty to go off. Were improving our posit...
