Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Strikers has the capability to "evolve" depending what happens to Bod/Cam. I'd prefer to have an alternative 70 minute option to Dan, unless he's kicked on a bit, post injury. Anyone got a spare £50k a week to land Jamie Vardy on a free? I mean maybe add whatever Bod and Cam are on, combined togeth...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Well, yeah. Of course the number of errors has a direct relationship to them not having the ball and being defensive v them having the ball and attacking. I mean, that just feels intuitively logical. But however good they system is on the front foot. You will need to defend, pretty much every game....

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Whilst the defence is unquestionably an issue, how much of that is because we are seemingly much more attacking this season. With a total of 121 goals scored this year, it's obvious the trade-off has been with defensive rigidity. That's part of my grump. Something around 30% we'd have to score 3 or...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Hmm, well I wrote a post and then got booted. Plus side, it'll save you all a lot of reading. Basically, the main issues with our defending isn't who's in the back 3, it's where we lose the ball and how often the defenders have possession when we attack. Wide players who can dribble past defenders ...

He was a long way short of Jasprit...his figures weren't awful, but not "peak Anderson," either...
I sorta got the impression from the interview, that he mighta preferred to bow out at Lords, but Lords goes first, Oval last...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Presumably Paris is the #1 target in midfield. Sheehan is player of the year and everyone else is under a long contract. So I suppose it depends on whether Evatt feels that department is strong enough as is and just needs a reliable Championship player, or if he thinks it needs a big boost. Strongl...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Hmm, Worthy wants someone a bit more solid. I prefer Randall defensively, suspect Bradley might cost a few quid, but Ogbeta for me doesn't bother nearly enough defensively..

Might be a while till we find another "Jimmy".......... :( ae:) ae:) I'm sure it will TD, if you think of all the others that started after him and finished before him. Just listened to his interview, yesterday. Seems he's known for a few weeks, didn't sound like it was all his pick, but he's settl...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I have Ogbeta as improving going forwards, wanting in defence. He'd be a no from me, unless they think they can work his defence, better. More critical for me should we go up one. So yeah 2 WB's. I'm fairly sure in MF you've described most of the attributes for MF general, Ghost. I'd be a bit concer...

Given my "record" of finals, I've elected to take one for the team, and not go....thank me later. :D Na. Get yourself to Wembley, matey. It's 5 years since Sky had that stupid "count down to extinction" clock up for us. This is our biggest game since then. We should all be there for it. I've yet to...

TBF DSB, they spent all day avoiding Radio, TV and the Newspapers. I reckon if it got an update, they might include football forums too!

Sir James of Burnley has announced his last test....v West Indies in a decision, I suspect Stokesy and McCullum have helped him with. To be honest, I might have tried to stick with him until he'd managed to depose the final Aussie, but it's been taking quite a while. What a player he's been for Eng...

I was hoping we at least got to Wednesday or Thursday of next week. But no, we've gone early. Queue a million posts about not taking the opposition for granted (we'd already had a bit of a warm up), like any fcuker inside the camp will read them and think "ohhh, we're doing this all wrong."... :-) C...
