Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
The ‘general on the pitch’ thing I feel is a bit overstated. Iredale also seems to be a vocal leader who battles as hard as anyone. I think there are many ways to be "general on the pitch" which don't necessarily point to over the top tackles and shouting/pointing.. If you think about Kante or Modr...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
I don't find "the gambling" logic very compelling. There's a very good reason why Bookies have favourites which is absolutely aligned with their ability to win v punter (or at least lay-off) There are two teams, sure, but it's not typically two even sets of competitors. You would expect more often t...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Maybe not one of GTs better games, apart from him being a big chunk of why we were on top first 20 and why their MF was so ineffective early doors. He also put both passes through that led to our first 2 goals...other than that, I'd be a bit surprised if Evatt veered off from his usual starting trio.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
I'm not that fussed about whether we can stick 18 past Utd kids and convince ourselves that makes a great team. The time is now. The time is here. Put up or shut up. We’ve had promotion in our hands for most of the season. Chance after chance. The time is here and now has been the case for months. ...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Famous last words, but I'll think we'll beat Barnsley over two legs. In the final, I think our style would favour us against Oxford. Judging by today, us vs Peterborough would be a toss-up. Funnily enough, I think Oxford might be a worse opponent for Posh than us. Jeez this is complex. Our '"style"...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
I don't think the misses are important. We've scored more in 12 months than ever before apparently, so I'm off for a crafty wank about the 8 we put past Utd kids. It's not about goals. Never has been. It's about points.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Not for me, personnel. Organisation and game management. Knowing when to stick or twist. Recognising there's time you have to dig it out some, so the WBs might have to drop some to make it a 5. But key is understanding when to do each. I think we're lacking on the defensive bit. There have also bee...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
Regardless of what division we're in, the defence needs looking at in the summer. Yes, we've missed so many gilt-edged chances but we're second top scorers. Pompey and Derby have gone up conceding 10+ fewer. Agree mate. Wonder what state Johnston will come back in? We have some capable personnel, b...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
If Derby have a limited bunch of players, they need to ask why their wage bill is easily the highest in the division. But hey-ho How many of derbys players would you pick in our first 11? I assume, as chief contrarian, you'd pick them all. Unless it didn't suit whatever your latest fatuous rant was...

Anyone spotted any change in Peterborough since half-time? No? No one? As you were chaps. Plan A, nowt riding on this psychologically.

Only had a quick look back. Pretty good it seems.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 11:14 amDoes anyone know how we’re doing with “must win” games this season?
Edit: I think this is the first league game where if we don't win we can't go up...when did we start "must wins?" About December?

Re: The Nostradamus file....
The Swiss investors are pulled together by Nick Lucock's brother and consists of around 25 families from Switzerland. I guess a £5m sum, split between 25 makes it more manageable coz it's only 200k a piece, and you can bet there's a tax loss deferring tax owed somewhere...What his brother said last ...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I might have missed it, and apologies if I have, but has anyone come out and said that the whole financial workings of the club are predicated on being promoted in 2024, and if we don't do this then we are all doomed and half our squad need to be sold for half their value just to keep the lights on...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
It’s a completely different scenario but we’ve seen clearly and Evatt has admitted how ‘playing our strongest team’ in the cups hasn’t helped us. When you are Bolton in league one the only thing that matters and it is the only thing is getting out of the league via promotion. I think we’ve somewhat...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I gotta say (in a non-gammon way), that we'd be absolutely gutted if Derby lost and we didn't get what we needed after playing a weak side. If I were resting a few - and I'm not against resting some who might be tired/carrying niggles, I might want to keep them in close proximity to the bench, on t...
