We'd probably like to ask him to refrain from diving headers in his own penalty box if we do.

Yeah, I wasn't arguing the point. Merely sort of agreeing with you, with a bit of an extra worry. Evatt might be on a promotion season and people could still turn on a sixpence at the first sight of a hiccup. "Here we go again" is bound to be a concern, even when we're going well. Think we're sayin...

TBF, I think Ainsworth has fewer votes in favour than keeping Evatt - he's got one with maybe a second pick after Duff from Dibs...Move on. The "get ridders" sometimes don't help themselves much... :-) They don't, but equally your point about "dead man walking" isn't miles off. Like I say, every pr...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I doubt anyone is using one result to define Evatt's career JSF....if they were, then I doubt the vote would be in it's current state, because if all you knew was that one game, he's probably never managing again...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
If Evatt goes, it needs to be someone else who can get the most out of a team designed to play out from the back, to dominate the ball. Oxford did that too. Ruben Rodrigues isn't getting in a Paul Warne team. I'm happy with play out from the back, as long as it has some purpose and direction. If it...

Agree mate and no one wants us to play hoofball. It's just a dreamt up witch...look what you're going to get if we move away from the known to the unknown. Pompey played decent enough football from what I saw, probably alongside some turgid dig a result out stuff as happens to all teams on occasion...

Last para. Can't see that happening because he won't believe it, so even if he tried, it would be difficult to pull off and there are almost certainly better managers for any lock, stock and barrel scenario ( by which I mean, if you changed to everyone's favourite witch, hoofball, there's certainly ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
This is the stay camp all over - they try to make you believe there's a "like button," when, in fact there is none as should be plain to see.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I am somewhat concerned that the positioning of the 8's was part of the plan, which would have taken some mighty brave out-balls to find them under the circumstances. Whilst not thinking Ric covered himself in glory, the movement in front of him was awful. Absolutely agreed. If it was the plan, it ...

We are truly back in the realm of "Rose Tinters" (and Doom Mongers).... But if TD can point me to where that set of stocks is in Kearsley, we might be able to put them to good use. T.D. can. My daughter lives in Ringley/Kearsley and I've seen them a few times off the bridge over the Irwell. https:/...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Not sure anyone, anywhere, ever has said that Evatt should carry on as he is. I've repeatedly said he needs to change. I can't speak for all stay-voters, but I'm confident they all think the same to a greater or lesser extent. There's a serious conversation to be had, and it'd be lovely if it start...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
We have four contracted central midfielders - Sheehan, Thomo, Morley, Dempsey - so we need more, whatever the manager and whatever the formation. Unless it's Ossie's 5-0-5. Or Mike Bassett's 4-4-2. Bizarrely our BWFC website, list 5 - the 4 above and Williams (if I ignore Maghoma as he's now gone)....

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
It's a lot harder (but not impossible) to change it in game. But he said they knew what Oxford were going to do, prepped for it, and wasn't surprised. So either they got the prep wrong (tried to do the wrong thing), or tried to do the right thing but the players weren't up to it. Either way that's ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I suspect that these days, if we tried to hire a manager whose experience in this country amounted to a title win two divisions below our station and a humiliatingly hubristic failed play-off attempt a division below us three years previously, fans would be seriously underwhelmed. Unless of course ...

Yeah it's both true that we were awful, and that they absolutely nailed it. Could see the plan and they got it bang on. And thereby hangs the tale Pru, you could see it, I could see it, and the bulk of thirty thousand Whites supporters could see it: Why couldn't Ian Evatt? Send for Sherlock... :sho...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
When there was a chunk of lead for "out," yesterday, my feeling was it sort of doesn't matter, which ever way you look at it there's still a significant "out" proportion, it's not one or two not reets, I think the same today, even though the count has changed on here. Interesting on WW that with nea...
