Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

The second thing that concerns me is her preference to talk about Evatt and almost skirt past Schumacher. I get she wanted to maybe try and restore Evatt a little due to earlier performance, but it felt like she didn't want to talk about Schuey and maybe has some reservations. I get the season end ...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Aye - absolutely no-one's reaction after Oxford was that we didn't have talented enough players. Fake News! There was at least 1 (and I suspect a few more), not convinced by plenty of our players/squad - it was a pretty regular conversation in the latter half of the season as we wilted. That's not ...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

I don’t buy the whole retrofitting. If the argument is that Markham should have gone post Wembley then it’s clear Evatt tried to throw him under the bus too during the season clearly blaming him. Same way they allowed Evatt to chuck Craddock under the bus. I think that Sharon says she is good at loo...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Like it or not he’s a far better player than Morley and Sheehan particularly as you move up levels. Harsh/presumptuous on Morley, IMO. I think he's a much better passer than Thomo and I'm intrigued to see how he gets on under Schumacher after a promising season of post-Evatt reset, with Wycombe and...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Never understood the GT disliking. Always gives 100% every game. Do wonder who the twitter divs will move onto when he does go. That energy is going to take some replacing. There's a difference between not massively rating someone as a player, and actively disliking them. I feel like the internet t...

As a fan, I would have preferred a much more experienced #2 keeper than a player whose vast majority of appearances are for Mickleover Sports (not Town; thanks DSB).

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Getting £1.2m for Thomason is great business for us, and should help in getting closer to being genuine title contenders. No way Schuey would sanction this if he wasn’t confident that it will allow us to come out of the summer stronger. Not sure it works like that. Clearly can’t turn the money down...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Yep. Leaves us needing not just a couple of strikers and a goalkeeper, but a genuine 1st team defensive midfielder too. Proper bummed out about this one. I think it’s tipping it from a bit to do to an awful lot to do and time running out for me. Yes we can replace Thomason but it’s not just getting...

Let me know when we complete the transition from “none of these should be professional footballers” to “we can’t live without them” :D
I think we can live without them all but we definitely need to replace Thomasson.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I’d say that him going to Wrexham a league up is a big loss and we will need a quality replacement. Sheehan is not the answer to anything other than staying in league one and Morley doesn’t and can’t do what Thomason does. But money talks I couldn’t say with any confidence that Thomason would’ve be...

Re: Financiers, investors and white knights: What next for FV?

Candid interview here from SB; https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/25319779.bolton-wanderers-chief-sharon-brittan-restructure-error/ Interesting, thanks. You can never tell without seeing/hearing the original tape, but (at least the way it's presented here) it feels like she's blaming Markham mor...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

A player I’ve never heard of till about 5 minutes ago. But one I will be massively annoyed if we don’t sign because well it’s summer and what else is there to be bothered by?

Re: Pre-season 2025

Gun, it's not negative just my realistic & honest assessment - however I don't expect many to agree and I would love to be proved wrong. BWFCI - ambition was probably the wrong word to use, I meant how serious the club are in backing SS and providing him with the required funds to give him a realis...

Re: Pre-season 2025

At it stands today IMO we will still finish 6th or 7th at best, others in this league have strengthened well (Blackpool, Huddersfield, Orient etc.) as well as the teams who came down from the championship. Taylor as a LB do me a favour, he should be CB at the side of either Forino or Toal. Inwood i...

Re: Pre-season 2025

Yeah - agree with that bit. The other bit about Taylor being LB, I could certainly see that, but then I'd want someone in CB who knows how central defending works (unless they coach differently to what we saw last season)....First couple of games I'm a little more hopeful we're seeing some structur...
