Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Yeah that’s confirmed. Didn’t set the world alight here - will be remembered for trying to chest that ball in on the line!
Worrying thing is that means the pool were shopping in is worse given he’s gone to a championship team.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I’d need the signings of the champ man regens of Bergson and Karl Henry to get anywhere near excited. Can see transition next year…

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
You'd think he was the worst manager in the league, not one of the best..? ae:) ae:) It’s not that though - he’s failed, twice. He’s probably at the moment a reasonable league one manager. He’s had backing from the board and the fans. He won’t get the latter next season if/when we have a bad run. H...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I think we can add a couple - one at centre half and one centre mid - who will raise standards and drive others on. One needs to be a new captain, unless they are giving it team talk Thomason. For me we don’t need to rip up the squad. I think a couple will be enforced - Charles i am sure will leave,...

Re: Our formation
Yeah it is opinions mate, totally respect the majority I see on here. I would say as the spare centre half in a three he has a lower workload than the others…but yeah he’s being asked to be a b-tech baresi and spray it about…but with league one legs and brain.

Re: Our formation
He’s a good one when he’s on form. He’s pretty inconsistent…just like the team he captains. Barnsley over two legs, first leg he was brilliant, imperious. Second he was bullied and an absolute mess. For me we need a consistent 8/10 man at centre half and we need a leader - he’s the one to replace.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Are there any centre halves other than our fearless leader who can’t play in a two? It seems such a limiting trait!

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
The problem is not that our press is more ineffective than Oxfords' - as Ghost says over the season, it's not - our Opta PPDA still has us as top, Oxford 4th bottom. But that's where the lies, damned lies and statistics come into play. In a one-off game, or even across the play-off, they might have...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Who is saleable then? Can we cash in on Santos, Sheehan, Thomason, or Charles to plug the gaps we need in mentality? I’m with Insane at the moment, if that’s the squad for next season it’s not getting top 6, never mind top 2. Too many opposition managers have worked out how to play against us.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
TBF, I think Ainsworth has fewer votes in favour than keeping Evatt - he's got one with maybe a second pick after Duff from Dibs...Move on. The "get ridders" sometimes don't help themselves much... :-) Both Duff and ainsworth have managed at a higher level than Evatt looks able to. Not particularly...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I was stay on Saturday night and now I’m go…
I think it’s gonna get toxic when we lose 3 on the bounce to Wigan Blackpool and Stockport next season - I’d rather we had a new manager now than October.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I think the shopping list will be:
Two leaders - one centre half, one centre mid.
Charles replacement (unless we think that’s Victor, but we’ll still need another forward at least).
Then your onto wing backs… unless we look at Iredale left (helps with leadership as well) back. And a new formation.

We’ve been a laughing stock at Wembley twice now. Not sure which performance was worse… maybe Saturday is still too raw.
