Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I was stay on Saturday night and now I’m go…
I think it’s gonna get toxic when we lose 3 on the bounce to Wigan Blackpool and Stockport next season - I’d rather we had a new manager now than October.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I think the shopping list will be:
Two leaders - one centre half, one centre mid.
Charles replacement (unless we think that’s Victor, but we’ll still need another forward at least).
Then your onto wing backs… unless we look at Iredale left (helps with leadership as well) back. And a new formation.

More "stay" voters than "go" now. Only by the famous 52-48% split, but y'know.
That might be the lurking fans of other teams.

We’ve been a laughing stock at Wembley twice now. Not sure which performance was worse… maybe Saturday is still too raw.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I got a bit emosh reading that. Not for me. I think he was decent, probably in my top 3 players this season and I enjoyed watching him. But he’s just another bloke who’s picked up a very good wage in a side that I’ll remember as a failure. Really do think Dion Charles will be off this summer as wel...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Depends when Evatt goes. He’ll either do the decent thing and step down now or he’ll go when the board has no choice - run of results against Rotherham, Wigan and Blackpool probably.

4 new wingbacks seems a stretch when Randell has mostly done well and Cogley was in the Team of the Year.

I'm sick of talking about (the now promoted) Kane Wilson. Get me two wingbacks of that level, please, so I can shut up about it.
😀
Sounds easy doesn’t it!!

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I think if you’re keeping the system we have to upgrade the wingbacks. Cooley was on the whole excellent this season but he isn’t Connor Bradley. We won’t get Connor Bradley but perhaps loaning one from above might be the way to go there. Randell I think is as good a signing as you get at this level...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

That would be peak Evatt, get a player in on loan, don’t play him, then sign him cos he knows best!!

I know dempsey ran around a put a few tackles in but was he actually any better? I dont think hes going to drag us to promotion next year.

Been thinking back to the semi and the beers on the pitch etc - mentally the prep was wrong from that point.

Yeah I don’t blame santos on his own - he’s just the captain and he doesn’t behave like one. They all hid yesterday I agree.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

One thing is for sure - if he stays fans will be right on his back from the first bad result. I honestly dunno - I think the players have to stand up and take the criticism, are we going to get a better manager? He’s been outthought by too many now at this level - Shaun Maloney had his number, twice...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Fair points BWFCi. For me, if I was Sharon, I would let him have a holiday and get him in when he is back and ask him what he would do differently. If the answer is, and I always come back to this, Plan A better, I’d be looking for a new manager. He’s assembled the best players available to do Plan ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I’d keep Baxter. I think Toal can play in a back 4, Cogley as well. I’d like to keep Charles and Collins up top. Other than that, I really would like new players for the other positions. Genuinely gutted Santos, Jones and the likes have another year on their deals. That’s the backbone (or lack of it...
