Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.
^^ So you're not advocating "Just hoof it!" Either? I'm wondering where the just hoof it contingent actually are, other than in people's heads.... I thought Rotherham played decent football when they went up (<50% possession), I also thought Ipswich did ~60% possession. I can forgive 15 crosses we ...

He did, but he's a gobshite. We clearly weren't and I'm not going to judge him on it. For the same reason he wouldn't get a pass now if he tried to argue we're only a bottom 4 team. As for exciting, well it's taste and fancy, but if that's not for you (as you say, a not uncommon view on "modern foot...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.
Little bit of straw manning going on there. There aren't many people who thought L1 1 year was a target (rather than an ambition) who then switched. As a "very recently had enough" myself, my quick verdict is: Y1 - excellent job. Very rocky start but there were two senior players when he walked in a...

Re: Grassroots Footy
Still playing at 36! For the uni old boys team. Joined 12 years ago when I moved back to the smoke. Hated the captain so started a new then 6s. We built a good side, made some mates for life. We got promoted up becoming the 3s then COVID severed our links with the uni and lots of people lost the hab...

And Toal, Christ yeah, LCB should be a sackable offence. He's always struggled there, but he's so so scared of giving the ball away every pass is five yards too safe. So it gets there, but Schon or whoever has no option but back. Horrible.

We'd need Randy further forward I suspect. One of them anyway.
I reckon you can get to Jan with:
Bax (Coleman)
JOT (Geth, JDC) - Santos (Forino) - Toal (Forrester) - Johnstone (Schon)
Matete - Sheehan - Tomo (Dempsey/Arfield/Lolos)
McAtee (Randy) - Dion (Vic ) - Collins (CMG)
With a fair few

I'm far from convinced, and that's where I'm at so far. Tidy enough, but I'm not sure what else. That said he's young, in a new country, coming into a struggling team that's falling apart around him. I'm not writing him off yet, but I'd be going Johnston at left back initially at least until the sho...

Re: The ianevattable sacking
Yeah Evatt isn’t ’trying to get sacked’ or losing games on purpose. Thats just not it. I strongly suspect post Wembley he knew that he had just blown the season he had to get this club out of league one. Everyone knew it. He knew it and probably because he’s so thin skinned didn’t fancy the critici...

Nope - I just thought he'd played for them
No arguments with the rest. Wouldn't be my first choice for sure.

Re: Terriers Barking, But Can Bolton Bite Back? - Bolton v Hudderfield - 14/09/2024 @ 3pm
Hmm. I hear where you're at Insano and I actually think we'd tried to simplify it yesterday. Felt like there were faster balls forward. But that needs a plan too. It isn't as easy as "Let's not play complicated plan A, just hoof it" I'm not sure where the quality balls into the box are coming from ...

Re: Options for the next manager
I’ve mentioned his name a few times, and in terms of experience he’d very much fall into the Mousinho/Buckingham category, but I do wonder whether Nolan would be a serious candidate. Maybe someone like Ghost is more clued up with regards to his coaching abilities, but the word out of West Ham was t...

Re: Options for the next manager
How many of our recent managers have been realistically talked about this far out? Maybe Dougie?
No issue with the chat, that's what a forum is for! But there is a good chance it's someone not on anyone's radar yet.

Re: Terriers Barking, But Can Bolton Bite Back? - Bolton v Hudderfield - 14/09/2024 @ 3pm
An absolute side note but that final goal today (1) is probably a fitting end to Evatts reign, and (2) reminded me of that one we shipped at Wigan where remi Matthews rolled it out to their centre forward. To be shipping goals like that now without the backdrop we had then is pretty unbelievable. J...

They definitely do. Yes, but it's more based around in-house work and boutique contract stuff. The raw data is valuable and available. The modelling is a lot of man-hours and much more specific, so isn't offered in detail by the aggregators. Agents are increasingly keen on it, as a way of selling c...

If what seems to be the inevitable happens, I'd imagine Ludonautics might come in useful when looking for a replacement? Although, I'm not sure of the current situation with them given Edwards' recent decision to rejoin Liverpool. Do they have a Manager Search box alongside the player one? Genuinel...

None of these are fit to wear the white shirt. All of them and Evatt and Markham are taking the piss out of this great club. Evatt and Markham need to go tonight. No excuses. Go tonight or continue to disgrace the name of this club. I'd keep Markham. Evatt, yeah, he has to go. Same, I don't think t...
