Re: Lennon announced on Offish site

Who's the guy with the tied up pony tail running between the sticks at about 2.10 of the training video?

Re: Trouble in't Mill

If my memory doesn't fail me wasn't Tierney part of the side that started last season with the worst record for years (until this year). Not sure his return is something to get wildly excited about. Thought Moxey was a lot better last night - not great but infinitely better than on Saturday. Would s...

Re: Trouble in't Mill

Would just like to put in a word for Craig Davies - thought he was immense - worked his socks off, his control was much improved and it allowed Mason the freedom to find space. If only he (Davies) could shoot -- but that's probably asking too much.

Re: Owl we get on, on Saturday?

When the ball goes near Spearing he looks like he thinks it's made of red hot coals or some radioactive material that will take his foot off if he has contact with it for more than a split second. How he gets his place ahead of Medo is a mystery - yes I know he's captain and all that but he really s...

Re: Owl we get on, on Saturday?

The fact that a thread about the next match only appears the Wednesday before says a lot about the enthusiasm (or lack of it) being felt. Can only see two scenarios: 1. We win and the boos are silenced but nobody is convinced it's the dawn of a new era 2. We draw or lose and the atmosphere will be h...

Re: Forest Home 16/08/2014 - Match Thread

Don't know what happened when I tried to quote you Norpig. What I tried to say was that I agreed 100% with just the question of what to do if Mavies is fit? Simple swap for Medo? And I hope Beckford doesn't even get on the bench - the useless lump. P.S. As I have no relative that seems willing to di...

Re: Forest Home 16/08/2014 - Match Thread

I think DF is a stubborn SOB so he will go with the team which finished last weeks game (hopefully he is not so stubborn as to see Pratley as a footballer). He may throw Mason in out of desperation but he may be on the bench! I would play the following; GK - Bogdan (far better keeper than Lonergan,...

Re: Forest Home 16/08/2014 - Match Thread

There doesn't seem much interest in tomorrow's game so thought I'd ask for advice from fellow sufferers to resolve a dilemma. The issues are as follows: 1) Tomorrow is the first home game of the season and I haven't missed one for many years 2) Tomorrow is my grandson's third birthday and the family...

Re: Watford Away 09/08/2014 - Match Thread

My prediction (for what it's worth) 0-0 up to the 3rd minute of extra time in the first half - then Watford score. Dougie's half time talk: "well done lads - unlucky there - keep it exactly the same in the second half and we'll try to nick an equaliser late on" 3rd minute of second half Watford make...

Deeney and Vydra re-united vs Jermaine doesn't fill me with the greatest confidence. There are teams in this league who look to have proper strikers, and we...don't. Norwich look v strong to me, will be interesting to see how the knew , no-one knows who he is, manager will get on. Spelling Police -...

Re: Bolton - best or worse than when you first started going

Started in 1959 - Lofty, Freddie Hill, Ray Parry, Dougie Holden etc. Players are a lot fitter now and the game is a lot quicker but, as regards entertainment, the game nowadays feels more like a business - all hard work and very little, if any, enjoyment. The money men have taken over and, so long a...

Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal

According to Dougie it's his little toe that's the problem (Mavies' not Dougie's). He's been having injections in pre season but Dougie didn't want to risk him

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread

From the brief clips of the Tranmere game he looked about 2 stone overweight - to be honest there were a few that looked like they were carrying excess padding. Do they wear some sort of "sweat the fat off" stuff (bin liners was my favourite but I guess they have something posher) under their kit?
