Re: The Bantams wait: Bradford (A) 6/3/21, 3pm KO
I'd stick with that line up if they're all fresh enough. Just need to work on that final ball to create more chances from our dominance. I'd also like to see us try a few more forward passes. Once or twice we had free kicks in decent places but opted to play a short square pass often putting oursel...

Re: The Bantams wait: Bradford (A) 6/3/21, 3pm KO
Dominant 2nd half. We looked a really good side. Credit to Bradford for fighting back after going down. Best match I have seen for the season between 2 good sides. Starting today we are playing the better sides in the Division. We certainly don't look out of place. In fact, if we continue to play th...

Re: Will the wheel drop off? Barrow (h) 27/02/21 15:00
The simple truth is that teams know now that we have match winners and are no longer a team with a center that can be bullied. Therefore, they will be more cautious against us and sit behind the ball. The Res Sea will not just open for us, so be prepared for more games like yesterday.

Re: Will the wheel drop off? Barrow (h) 27/02/21 15:00
Barrow played well. Very difficult for us to get behind them hence we had a lot of possession but no penetration. We werent helped by Doyle whose touch is like an elephant and lost the ball several times. Clearly a penalty box player and needs another forward playing beside him to be fully effective...

Re: Going South (end)? Not us. Southend v Bolton Sat 20th Feb 3-0.
To be honest I'm more worried about the amount of relatively easy chances Doyle is missing, than MM. I don't know whether its fatigue but with the amount of chances Doyle has had in games, he should be scoring more IMO - it seems like he needs 3 or 4 chances to score a goal. Indeed, especially sinc...

Re: Going South (end)? Not us. Southend v Bolton Sat 20th Feb 3-0.
We need a player like Madison in the team. He gives us the x factor player that the team doesn't have.. unpredictability. The sort who will do the impossible out of nothing. Looks to be a player who needs to hear the crowd for inspiration as he thrives on confidence. Looks to be slowly finding his f...

No GK on the bench. Evatt loves to role the dice. If I were Southend Manager I would tell my players to take a card to hurt Gilks early in a set play. Crazy!

Re: Is football not a man's field? Away @ the Stags 26th Jan 2021
Nigel Cloughs post match interview is worth a listen. Our goals, flukes. Their (fluke) goal, was a great hit 🤣. What a whopper! Bitter sh!thead. Was narky all the way through the game, even when 2-0 up. Has to deflect from the fact that he and his team f&&ked up royally. In fairness I do think we g...

Yup, Doyle is struggling. I only noticed today how bad his first touch is. However, he scores goals and had an assist today. Definitely an undroppable asset even though I do believe Miller will give defenders more problems.

Re: Is football not a man's field? Away @ the Stags 26th Jan 2021
Unbelievable. I thought we were dead and buried at 2-0. Baptiste and Santos were colossal. Gilks almost gave me a heart attack. Evatt made the right changes. Delf changed the game. Williams is a very important player for us. First name on the team sheet for me. John ..we are lucky to have him. Arthu...

Decent Half. Took the sting out of Mansfield's fast start with the help of the early cards for them. We look solid but so far Doyle without a sniff. We need one chance to win this as our defense is not giving them anything so far.

Re: Is football not a man's field? Away @ the Stags 26th Jan 2021
MJ did his job well on Saturday. He broke up numerous plays and was one of the main reasons why nothing was coming through the middle from our opponents. Unspectacular but effective is what I would say.

Re: Is football not a man's field? Away @ the Stags 26th Jan 2021
Just was able to see the replay. Glad to have 3 pts but not gushing over the performance. Baptiste, Santos and Thomasson really put in a shift. The others had individual moments but we are far from being in a place where we can win 12 of 19. We are not controlling the game outside of those mini 10 m...

Re: Prawn sandwiches to shrimps. Morecambe home Tues 09-02 2021 7-0'clock
It is said never change a winning side...., unless that is, you are Pep! Lots of new players but they will need time to Gel. Maddison for Isgrove or Delf, and MJ for Lee the only changes for me. Will we be able to break the Iron Curtain expected by Morecombe? With the shooting power of Maddison from...

Re: Is Salford City an away fixture? Sat Feb 6th 3-0'clock
The last time I saw Maddison in action for Peterborough a couple seasons ago, he totally dominated the game. I thought to myself at the time, what a world class player. He played as a #10 in that game. Without Sarc, maybe Evatt may play him in that creative role which we so lack, in advance of MJ an...

Spoilt for choices. I would think Evatt may play Maddison, MJ, Oladapo and possibly John in the starting line up at the expense of Delf, Isgrove, Thomasson and Jackson.
Shows how silly Evatts prediction of automatic promotion was with Crellin, Gordon, White and Comley as our first choice picks.

While trying to figure out where will we play Maddison, I found this article about him very interesting when he was about to join Charlton. A good read.

Maddison: What a signing for us. Evatt now has the tools. Hope he (Evatt) is as good as he believes because the Board has backed him in this market. Its the Hope that kills. I now have hope that maybe we can get into the playoffs this season.
