Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager

... and in that case there is an argument to make that we should have kept Coyle until it was mathematically inevitable that promotion was out of the question having kept him on after relegation. they were HIS players, the buck stopped with him it now becomes easy for the excuse to be made by DF and...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread

1. he wont get regular first team football
2. weiss and boyata were by common consensus - pretty shite
3 we really need someone coming back from a mystery virus that left him paralysed
4.he can run, pass AND shoot- truly the epitome of the modern footballer

seems a good fit

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager

yep. agree with a lot of that sacking Coyle when we did was an admission that promotion wont happen this season- despite the talk otherwise. it is increasingly looking like the players brought in ( contrary to what those who claimed "all they need is organisation, picking in their correct positions,...

Re: The Tykes Thread

If they players/the team are/were good enough to go up then Coyle would have had a better chance of doing so than DF - why? because they were HIS players. if they aren.t/were'nt good enough then that is the key criteria for sacking Coyle and getting someone new in- the fact that he had proved "shit"...

Re: The Tykes Thread

funny how a squad that needed only DIRECTION and ORGANISATION when Coyle was in charge have gone to being OBVIOUSLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH now.
they were shit then then and they're still shit. results dont lie.

Re: What are you reading tonight?

Bring up the bodies is superior to Wolf Hall in every way i'd go so far as to put it in my top 5 ever. but i didn't see Goebbles in her depiction of Cromwell- she writes him very sympathetically in my view. That's the fantastic trick - in the last hundred pages she shows him weaving a web of lies, ...

Re: Anyone but him!

Mick McCarthy because? well didn't know i had to give reasons but 1. he's mediocre, yes he's got teams out of "this" division but so has Coyle with a team with infinitely less resources 2. doesn't strike me as the organisational genius many on this board at least say we need- the Roy Keane hulabalo...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

by my reckoning we done the jobbing manager/ serial failure with Megson .. so that rules out for me McCarthy, Davies et al and we've done the "Bolton legend" ex player with Coyle .. so not that alternative. i dunno - a proper interview process involving foreigners and lower league bods might be the ...

Re: Coyle sacked

sad but inevitable i suppose. after Stoke i said i hoped he would get rid of the players who shamed us that day .. and he did to a large extent. (SKD just keeps having a recurring one last hurrah) the players he brought in have proved just not good enough.. though - and i'm probably the only one on ...

every single one of them - feckin magic.
even the guys who got beat scrapped for everything. Hansen and McDowell were how many down at one point? yet they still kept the US points off the board for as long as possible.

Re: The Ryder Cup

looking at the singles the only one we can probably write off is Kaymer (arguably Westwood as well on current form but he's got the experience to sneak it)
all the rest we can win. c'mon Europe
