Yep, happy with that one. Scrappy 2nd half as Stevenage fought tooth and nail to get back into it, but we were still the better side. Anything less than a win would have been an injustice. Starting to click now!

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread

I can see Crellin and White having their loans cut short. I can also see Greenidge, Mascoll, Comley and potentially Gordon and Hickman being actively moved on. GK, LWB, DM and ST must be the positions we look to strengthen. Gilks is good in goal temporarily, but given that he was brought in as coac...

Re: Sal-Destroying. Home. Friday 13th. 7:45. On the tele.

Like Evatt’s interview: “ not sure who gave Gilks MOTM for taking goal kicks’!!! Two good saves and a lot of marshalling. He certainly made a difference to the defensive performance but I, like others, wouldn't have made that choice - Santos would have been my pick. Not that I begrudge Gilks the gl...

Santos and Tutte both outstanding. Gilks clearly made a difference at the back. Proper Captain's performance from Sarce. Jones and Kioso impressive also. We didn't have an awful lot of the ball in the 2nd half, but I never really felt like we were in danger. Superb!

Ricardo Santos doing his best impression of a brick wall. Impressed.

If you're Matty Alexander, how shit are you feeling just now? Benched in favour of a loanee, and when he proves to be incorporeal your coach gets a shot before you.

I know he's "One For The Future (tm)", but still. That's gotta be a bit of a kicker.

I reckon he'll play the below, with a chance of White for Comley and Darcy for Isgrove.

lineup (2).png
This, but I'd put Isgrove wide left and Darcy next to Crawford. Not like we're swimming in options at the minute, except for exchanging traffic cones for concrete bollards at the back.

I predict a double substitution at half-time, just to prove a point. Brockbank and any other. Probably Comley
Really unfair on Brockbank if Evatt attempts to pin part of this on him. He's looked good at CB recently, but God knows what the thinking behind his position tonight is.

Re: Oh My Cod! Will we put them in their Plaice? Grimsby Town (H), League 2, Saturday 10th October @ 15:00

I saw signs today that the formation was starting to bear fruit. Out of possession, the back three pulled close in, the gaps on the flanks being filled by a combination of the wide players and the defensive midfielders. In possession, those same centre backs spread outwards, leaving Brockbank and De...

Glad he’s stuck with the same team from Harrogate (bar Jones), was worried he might be tempted to tinker with this talk about Baptiste being available again. I assume Evatt has crunched the numbers and the benefits of an extra outfield player on the bench outweighs the lack of goalkeeper. Who do we...

Re: Whither the burke in the coracle? Shrewsbury (A), FLT, Tue 6 Oct @ 5.30pm(!)

From the sound of things, we haven't done too badly here. We've put out a "weakened" side, missing a number of the players you would expect to see starting on Saturday, against a team in the league above. We've shot ourselves in the foot to concede twice in the first half, but otherwise have matched...

We've had defenders with more own goals in a season than that. Ha! Aye. I'm trying not to ne massively underwhelmed, but he's in the shirt now so he gets my support until he loses my trust... :D Indeed. As in the case of one Kevin Davies, stats don't always tell the story. Could he be a big unit, a...

I bought my match pass. Apparently the max def for the stream will be 720p which is disappointing. I'l probably watch it on my laptop instead of the TV. First world problems and all that.
Is the code I need on the email? The one from EFL Digital? Is it the purchase ID?

Re: Up for the cups in 20/21

All focus is on that much-discussed promotion target, but the best Wanderers managers - from Foweraker and Ridding through Armfield and Greaves to Rioch and Allardyce – have known the positivity that a cup run can engender. And with a strong, deep squad to pick from, Ian Evatt might relish the chan...

Re: Pre-Season Friendlies

From the info I've read, it could well be an ankle injury. Bad sprains or twists can cause the sort of debilitating pain referred to, in a best case scenario. An ankle break would be significantly worse, but would still be better than some of the other possibilities...

Hmmm :? A RB? We already have an RB in Brockers. I wonder if Evatt doesn't rate Brockers to adapt in to a wingback yet fancies Hickman capable of playing there? we shall have to wait and see I suppose. This does feel like Brockers will be going out on loan though :| There is no way on gods earth th...

After all these years of seeing his name crop up here n there, does this mean I now have to work out how it's pronounced? Another striker to add to the party - I've no idea how this group of players will turn out on the pitch, but I can't fault the way we've been going about our business. Dell-fon-...
