Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I've been an Evatt supporter. I've defended him. I can't defend today. I still think that trying to play on the ground, with footballers in the defence, is the way forward. I still think that some of our fans don't remember exactly how dire hoofball can be. But today is among the closest I've ever b...

Ogbeta starts. No Williams at all.
No JDB or Nlundulu.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I know you've eyed Wiredu a while. But while I know he can play more than one position, do you think there's scope for another centre-back addition, assuming we have Johnston, Santos, Jones, Toal, Iredale and Forrester contracted next year? I think so. Obviously Johnston needs space to come back, b...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
A week away and I’ve developed a very bad gut feel for this one. Feels very much like that Watford game to me. Similarish scenario. Since we beat them here Oxford have been better than we have. I think honestly they have that momentum and we need to be very careful. They are on one of those end of ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Our lads out of contract in summer: Nat Ogbeta Zac Ashworth Declan John Jon Dadi Bodvarsson Cameron Jerome interestingly JDB's new contract had a year extension triggerable by appearances, although it was never made clear how many. He made 46 appearances in all comps (18 starts), 36 in the league (...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
120-odd goals in all competitions this season tends to indicate that we're pretty solid up top. Yes, there's questions over whether Charles, Collins and Adeboyejo can make the step up, and we certainly need better options than we currently have (though JDB is an interesting counterpoint - he was ju...

Let the ticketing chaos commence!
Sorted mine in less than 15 minutes from actually getting onto the system. No issues. Never really have had any issues with the online ticketing system. Interesting to see that there appear to be plenty who are struggling with it...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs TBC. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Oxford make it!! I wouldn't say they've been "good". Dogged. Disciplined. Determined. Their entire game plan was "keep Posh out". It's worked, and fair play to them. Different proposition in the final. We've got to get players like Maghoma unlocking that defence, get Williams/Ogbeta and JDC round th...

Yeah, it was about as blatant a penalty as you're likely to get. Daft from the Posh skipper.
Oxford very much bus-parking their way through here, but Posh haven't shown an awful lot of ability to break them down...

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
We've won nothing yet, and that 2nd half performance fell a fair way short of target. We've done the minimum necessary to get through to our minimum target. Games will have to be upped, defences will have to be tightened if we want to achieve our primary target. Oh, and if you're the pond scum who t...

Agree entirely. This is the right attitude. Play offs are nothing if you don’t win them. And tomorrow night will not likely be easy. Big job to do and IF they do it then it counts for nowt unless they do the next one.

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
Yeah, looks to me like the biggest mass unsold blocks are the South West corner, and the entirety of North Upper. Given that South West is normally not home fans, and the North Upper is usually families, guess it sorta tracks that it's term-time school night and TV factors keeping folk away...

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
I'm never normally one to defend our support, but I think the consideration here is all about kick off time. Portsmouth was a Saturday 3pm kick off, no hope of watching it on the box, and was included with your standard season ticket. This one is a work/school night, on the telly, and you need to fo...
