Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
We've won nothing yet, and that 2nd half performance fell a fair way short of target. We've done the minimum necessary to get through to our minimum target. Games will have to be upped, defences will have to be tightened if we want to achieve our primary target. Oh, and if you're the pond scum who t...

Agree entirely. This is the right attitude. Play offs are nothing if you don’t win them. And tomorrow night will not likely be easy. Big job to do and IF they do it then it counts for nowt unless they do the next one.

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
Yeah, looks to me like the biggest mass unsold blocks are the South West corner, and the entirety of North Upper. Given that South West is normally not home fans, and the North Upper is usually families, guess it sorta tracks that it's term-time school night and TV factors keeping folk away...

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
I'm never normally one to defend our support, but I think the consideration here is all about kick off time. Portsmouth was a Saturday 3pm kick off, no hope of watching it on the box, and was included with your standard season ticket. This one is a work/school night, on the telly, and you need to fo...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
If Derby have a limited bunch of players, they need to ask why their wage bill is easily the highest in the division. But hey-ho How many of derbys players would you pick in our first 11? Their manager and their organisation is worth a lot of points to them. I have absolutely no doubt about that. I...

H/T, 2-0. I fancy us against any of the potential play-off opponents, whether home, away, or at the National Stadium. You don't come within a single result of 2nd without being a good side at this level, and we've proven on a number of occasions that there's daylight between us and the chasing back ...

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30
A three-goal win is the very minimum we need if Derby somehow blow it. Get a third, then sit back - Boro aren't going to chase the game from that position.

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Whatever decision Evatt makes will be the wrong one, unless we go up, by some miracle.. If we go weaker and Derby lose, he'll get panned If we go full strength and Derby win, he'll get panned Automatic promotion is a 100/1 shot, so I think it's pretty clear that the right decision is to not take an...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
We need to get a finishing coach or something though. Never seen a side miss so many sitters. The one with the post is unbelievable! We woul have some compilation of misses this season. Easy to say that, but it's actually much more difficult than it appears to finish that. The bounce of Charles is ...

Very much depends on if the players have had a good long look at themselves over the last couple of days. Got to win as much for goodwill as anything else. Port Vale are going to battle, but the teams around us have put them comfortably to the sword recently - we need to do the same.

Interesting. I was under the impression that every single one of players was a non-league carthorse/pub player. Now it's an excellent squad doing it all in spite of an out-of-his-depth manager.
Curious.

Rumours circulating at the ground that JDB is out. Ankle. Could be done until the play-off final.
Geth Jones supposedly the other new addition to the physio table.

The hows and the whys matter not. Must win.
A proper spanking would do wonders for three things, though - 1) our goal difference, 2) our confidence, 3) potentially instilling a bit of "oh-God-that-train-is-coming-up-behind-really-effing-QUICK" fear into Derby...

The world is full of "coulda been a contenders." They're the ones that didn't. Let's give 'em a badge for trying. I was just saying that the margins have been finer than they appear over the course of the season. There's no doubt that we'll finish where we deserve to finish - but today's game, for ...

Bold claim indeed, considering the goal came from a breakdown between Ogbeta and Sheehan, then Kamara driving towards Toal.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 7:07 pmThought the decision to start Gethin cost us the goal fwiw.
But not slating them how they played / tried today.

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Thought we were very good. There's not a lot to choose between the two sides, but we were better than them today. Should have come away with three points, which is mildly frustrating, but I can't say I'm too disappointed with the result. We're back to needing Cambridge and/or Carlisle to do us a fav...
