Re: What are you watching tonight?

Just bailed out of watching 'War Horse'. I should've gone with my instincts and done so after the first 5 mins, but in the interest of appeasing Mrs H, I stuck it out for an hour or so, but couldn't take it any longer. Utter claptrap.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....

Whilst they frustrate me as much as the next man, I actually welcome roadworks. Maintenance has to be carried out at some point. They're a necessary evil that simply can't be delayed indefinitely. Having said that, seeing mile upon mile of 'smart motorway upgrades' without seeing any activity at all...

Completely agree with all the positive comments made about him. Lofty in!

Mind you, if he were to accidentally wear his shorts the wrong way around there'd be uproar.

He also got a prize for his achievement in English Literature.

He'd have done very well in the 'Places' and 'Words' categories in Bullseye!! :)

Re: Today I'm happy about......

Went to No. 2 son's 'graduation ceremony' this eve at his high school. We got a nice surprise when he was awarded with a special prize for being the first pupil in the school's history to get 100% in an end of school exam. In his case, 100% in his Geography GCSE. Incredible. Well done lad. We're ver...

Re: the Photo thread

I'm not really familiar enough with RAW, to know what the pros and cons are. That's my next step in what should be a quite simple act of using modern technogy to capture an image representative of reality.

it does sound like a kind of jack of all trades lens... that's probably what's going on here... it's your glass, not your technique! the wind won't have helped either... I think mine were taken on a cold - crisp - but not-windy night - so the air was clear and fresh... Actually, on reflection, mine...

Back in the day, as a yoof, I ran on the pitch and patted Paul Jones on the back after watching him play in a pre season Bolton XI against Chorley at Victory Park. One of only 3 Bolton players I ever touched. Makes me sound a bit weird, but its true. You don't sound weird, I too have an uncanny kna...

Re: What was going on Football wise when you joined this for

On 17th Jan, 2009, we'd just lost 1-0 at home to United. A terrible game with Megson at the helm. A season started off with Campo and Stelios leaving, with Muamba (who? I asked myself at the time  ) and Elmander ( )joining I was very upset that day. Below's what I wrote on my 2nd ever p...
