Re: You take the high road...
if it's good for the scots and the welsh - the the feck not simply do the SAME for England?? why should England's affairs be arranged differently?? EITHER - have an equivalent English Assembly OR - subdivide westminster for england, scotland and wales matters and abolish the welsh and scottish asse...

Re: the glorious "I was wrong" thread
I still maintain Megson is a better manager than Coyle.
Coyle better than Freedman, is a slightly harder one. Tallest dwarf etc.
My main one is holding out on Chung Yong Lee finding form again. Wavering toward "I was wrong" on that score, then I remember that header in the semi-final.

Re: “Make towards the pebbled shore"..The Brighton match thr
I predict a hammering (as the Kaiser Chiefs didn't sing) and mounting pressure on not a number, but a Freedman.
I'm getting perilously close to Megson-era "just get a few losses, get rid, get a new guy in."

I'd say even then her patience is wearing thin.

Many, many thanks indeed. You're all very kind. Just a flying visit as I'm now off into Manny for a few Birthday drinkies before being taken to El Rincon for dinner. Hoo-bloody-rah. :pissed: Will catch you later. BTW - am also feeling a bit smug as it's 10 years ago today that I stopped smoking :pa...

Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
Murray was due a stinker. He generally comes back stronger from disappointing results.
Still don't think Dimitrov is all that. Raonic on the other hand, but I still worry about players that base their game around a big serve.
Federer's never winning another slam.

Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
Nadal won't last as long as Djokovic and Murray as he's already had some serious work done on his knees. His all-action style of play comes at a price. Still think Murray has a couple of grand slams left in him. But when Nadal plays like that he's every inch what Federer was capable of. On clay? Unp...

As we look to be in with a shout of avoiding relegation, they send Agent Battenberg round on another not-so-secret assignment to kick us when we're down.
Premiership ref? Pull the other one.

Re: Ram it up 'em?! - Derby (A) 11/3/14
If he's pushing the boat out at home and keeping it tight against the higher-ranked teams away, then that at least is a little progress. We go gung-ho we could end up where Coyle had us. Sorting out defense was Freedman's first priority way back. The best form of defense though, is a good offense. i...

We'd need to win about 10 of our last 12 to be in with a shout.

As always, defeat from the jaws of victory.
It'd be more depressing, if I hadn't seen it. so. many. times. before.
That French team were f*cking useless and we need shooting for silly, silly mistakes.
It's like supporting Bolton sometimes.

Re: Euro 2016 Draw
Feeling oddly optimistic about that 3rd place spot in our Group of Death. Ok, Germany and Poland have 1st and 2nd all-sewn up before a ball is kicked, but it's down to us and Ireland for 3rd and I fancy The Strach Attack to get one over on the O'Neill and Keane Circus. Ok, we'll feck it up against G...

Re: Alan Pardew and his headbutt
I dunno. I can't stand the bloke but the Hull lad shouldn't have pushed him. Pardew would have been perfectly within his rights to merely shove back. In fact if he'd done nothing but looked outraged the ref may have been very hard on the player instead. Shove a manager? Probably marching-orders. Hea...

I hope he's rewarded for his struggle. Would be great to see him back in the shirt and enjoying football in good nick again.
