Re: The athletics/running thread
How are your feet LE? Anyone got any grand athletic ambitions for next year? Mine involve the usual eat less junk food, do more exercise which I will probably fail at before the first week of January is up. I’d also like to see myself high up the age rankings in triple jump as a V40 which was the s...

Given the mutations of the new strain are on the protein the vaccine targets (or at least seem to be) I will be a lot happier when we see some solid data showing the vaccine is effective against the new strain still. Too late - you'll already be an automaton controlled by the evil empire of Bill Ga...

Enjoy your run today Guys. Will be thinking of you climbing up that mountain in the pouring rain whilst I sit in my nice warm house. Bruce will be reet in his new pumps. Bp, hope you’ve sorted your dental insurance. All done! 7.5k with some bloody tough climbs. No injuries, just a pair of split pum...

Re: The athletics/running thread
I ran 5 miles tonight. First time since February I have done that distance. Super slow but really pleased with myself. Only set out to do 4 miles but felt ok so we pushed it on. Back out again later in the week for a short one. Hoping twice a week will help with the fitness and my weight!! Well don...

Re: The Politics Thread
Been watching the shenanigans in the USA this evening. Trump sending thugs into counts to try and stop them. Proclaiming victory in Penn when the truth is it’s very much too close to call. Trying to go to court to get votes thrown out. What’s the difference between this and how the Nazis took contr...

If I was that shape, I'd be delighted! :D 3 mile plod for me today with friend and dog. Still super slow. It’s a bit soul destroying. Devoured an entire chocolate orange afterwards I was so depressed about it! That's 278 calories a mile...….. Didn’t need to know that. Why can’t you be encour...

Re: The athletics/running thread
You motivated me Bruce. Now the kids are back at school this week I’ve no good excuse either so dusted off my running shorts that have been languishing in a drawer for the last month, grabbed my trainers and the dog and set off for a very slow, unfit, humid few miles. Hated every minute of it! Befo...

I'm very happy everyone is keeping up the exercise (or starting again in GG's case). I've trained through the summer but motivation has suffered due to the whole race season cancelling.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Plodded round 4 miles tonight. Decided if I’m going to be slow then I’ll try and up the mileage slowly instead. Try ultra running. Them buggers walk most of it! Or a triathlon where I can just cheat and get on my bike when I get knackered? Yeah......that's not how triathlons work though. Sorry It's...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Yeah it's ridiculous. Something pinged in my leg last time it was this hot about 4 weeks ago and still isn't fixed. Going stir crazy again. I really fancy a swim and Boris has just said no to pools for ages yet! Still, saving a shed load with the kids swimming lessons and swim club fees (if ...
