Re: The athletics/running thread

Very happy bunny after yesterday. First time in a pool since December and managed 1500 metres in 40 minutes.

Later went to the track and ran some of my best times in 12 months including a 1:29 400m

😊

Re: The athletics/running thread

London to Brighton at the weekend. Nice little ride, and a zoom up Devil's Dyke before heading down to the seafront. Lovely views, bastard of a hill though. Back at track on Thursday which should be nice. Then moving to Leyton in a fortnight so shall be scouting out some running/tri clubs out east....

Re: The athletics/running thread

Day 28 - Done! 25 sit ups, 80 crunches and 95 squats That was hard! When I do my crunches I vary each 10. So 10 normal, 10 right elbow to left knee, 10 left elbow to right knee and repeat. Changes the focus but also engages the obliques. 😊 Woah! Woah! Woah! One step at a bloody time, man! Y...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Around 70km on the iron horse hitoday out to Windsor and a bit back. Felt fine apart from the horrible headwinds that seemed to blight the entire journey east. This evening's takeaway curry has sated the appetite. Was supposed to do 50 miles on the bike yesterday but wind and rain meant an indoor r...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Couple of days to catch up on but did a 10k time trial tonight.
45.40 is the best I've run since I moved up. Room for improvement as I am suffering with Plantar fascitis atm but happy to tick over for now.

Re: The athletics/running thread

TBH I just go where I'm told (by my cycle group). Other times I just opt for an hour's fast and flat round the Volcano. Have lots of people told you where to go before?! :D Yes, usually with pointed sticks and 10 foot poles. The occasional flaming brand too. Shouldn’t ask them if they’ve ...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Tried running today and...the leg just still can't hack it. Tight at the top of the hammy and tight behind the knee. Boo, etc. Looking forward to a weekend cycle, looking forward to the pools reopening. Oh dear, a prolonged break from running is needed? The squats may be good for it. Strengthen the...
