Re: Womens football

At the weekend I saw Ajax against Feyenord women, it's a Klassiker so they played in the Johan Cruyff arena. Decent crowd. They seem to put blocks on sale until they sell out, then put more blocks on. It was just the lower tier and the ends were empty. Ten euros for adults. I get why they wouldn't w...

Re: Murder on the Orient Express. Home to Leyton O, Sat 23rd Dec, 15:00

I watched one game from the armchair, it was a loss and I was particularly irked at Dempsey. Trotting around, not wanting the ball. Then, a while later it turns out he was injured, I think, so he's actually a hero. From my armchair, I have no idea what state any of the players are in for the game. I...

Re: The Politics Thread

One person's "breath of fresh air" is another person's "threat to democracy".

From my point of view, I couldn't care less about most of the policies, couldn't care less about who is at the top, it's the undermining of institutions and dismantling of democracy that I find troubling.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

With the group of players there is at the moment, after having sat through the Wigan game, I'd want all new players to be combative. And start handing out protein shakes and gym passes, maybe.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Alex Neil's sat watching in the stands tonight. Wonder what he thought of the second yellow? Should we break out the conspiracy theories and say Dion got sent off so he didn't have to play Wigan and risk messing up his transfer? Watford and Stoke interested in Charles, apparently. I love a good con...

R Williams got a big up from Evatt in the Bolton News recently after he played in the last game of the season, I think. It's almost like the manager is managing the players. Very odd.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Nugent is getting on a bit (33), being a sub is probably perfect for him. Not that I have any idea about if he's any good these days, or would go to Bolton.

Good to hear! Which players have there been recently who've had character? It seems like a while since they were a team of battlers.

This whole signing players thing and getting linked with Johnny Foreigner(s) seems very strange!

https://the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26808 See the original, official, fixtures thread to find out. Fair enough. There's absolutely no case there if they threaten to sue anyone, unless they have a layout they own and people directly copy that. Even then, they'd struggle to win a su...

Yup, anything like copyright infringement is best avoided (:

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Well, that presumably means they're fairly sure about making signings. Looks like a bit of a shake up with only one senior forward, goalkeeper and a reduced midfield. Probably about time.

Pretty much where I am, only, I actually think that relegation 'could' be a blessing, in that we'll be forced to get rid of most of these these shithouses and bring through the academy players. Too simplistic? Maybe, but can it get any worse? That's what I think every time (: It hasn't happened yet...

The Venn diagram that represents this may overlap considerably, but I know for a fact won't be an exact match.
Especially with everyone on this board who lives outside of Bolton. Same with any club.

At the time Mind you, players change: Marcos Alonso won the Premier League.
Think I read somewhere he's Chelsea's player of the year this season. Afobe didn't get much of a chance at Bolton.

Didn't the style of play change (more passing) when Madine went? What happened to that?

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

I think there are a lot more factors at play when it comes to attendances. Aside from the amount of football on telly these days and the marketing of the premiership, there has been huge social change in the last decade or so that competes for attention. Shopping malls are now destinations for leis...

It might be painful for us, short term (although not the disaster some want conjure up), but it'll be even more painful for the EU, and frankly the fifth biggest single interest bloc on the planet (after the western industrial-military complex, OPEC, Big pharma, and tobacco), i.e. European car manu...

Don't know what it's like for everyone else but here the second "mini" beast from the east is worse than the first. Seemed fine at about 6pm last night but by 9pm the car had vanished. Roads that were fine last time are causing problems this time. Maybe it's that there are less cars on a weekend or ...
