Back last winter a friends father died. The old chap (also a friend of mine) had lived alone for many years and had been a hoarder. Every Christmas and birthday his friends would give him a bottle of whisky and he would say 'Ooh, thanks,' and put it away in a cupboard for it to never see daylight ag...

Octagon for the third in the season, Ghosts. Without ruining it, let us know what you think won't you, Clapton? Okay, mini-review, no spoilers: A dark Victorian angst-ridden melodrama about family secrets which aren't so much slowly revealed as hinted at letting the viewer join the dots to get near...

There was that one that took place on the M62 when a gang of ramraiders making it back to their home town of Garston were pursued by my colleagues at 120mph up the hard shoulder past 3 lanes of standing traffic whilst the passenger in the bandit car was stood up through the sun roof firing an automa...

I've just seen an advert on day time TV for a loan shark company advertising 'short term payday loans'. The ad shows the obligatory smiling woman checking out the company web site and nodding and smiling contentedly at what she saw. She perhaps didn't read the small print. The advert clearly states ...

Octagon - first night of All My Sons by Arthur Miller. First production by David Thacker, the new Artistic Director. Really looking forward to it. Let us know how it goes won't you, William? Saw Death of a Salesman there a couple of years ago - brilliant! Bruce - it is simply magnificent. The actin...

The term for these creatures found at the roadside is 'roadkill' and would you believe that there are actually recipes for cooking this stuff?
I have to admit that I tried one of them a few weeks ago and it cooked up very nicely. Very tasty indeed!
One question though - what do you do with the bike?

I got my notice today from the HM Revenue & Customs on how much tax they are going to sting me for by the 31st January. I've been self employed for seven years now and have never had a settled tax bill that I could budget towards and know roughly what to expect. They never seem to average it out bet...
