Re: Time to Declare...

The problem is not the manager, I met with an established player (who is currently playing in the championship who also has premiership experience.) yesterday who was offered a contract by Bolton. He liked the club and the reason he chose the other club was our Chairman, I won't repeat the phrase h...

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

Just to recap some of the potential problems we may have in attracting leading candidates. Transfer embargo. Potential hole in finances due to one of the owners not putting money in as promised. Club in a sustained period of decline. Looks like we will end up with Dean Holdsworth holding every posit...

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

My own Short list is made up of two magagers with experience and two I believe will prove to be good managers with the potential to manage at the top level given time. Tony Mowbray Nigel Adkins Graham Alexander ( Unlikely to want to move as he has only just been appointed ) Justin Edinburgh All are ...

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

My choice would be the current Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh, who has done a proper apprenticeship o gt to Gillinghm and has a decent record whereever he has been. Potentially I could see him having a decent career, I suspect the question would be are we an attractive proposition for his ambit...

Re: Next Up - Freeman's Replacement

I'm fairly certain that Sherwood wouldn't even take the phone call, were it to be made. He's fecking deluded as to his own ability. Why Spuds ever thought it right to give him the job i'll never know. Oddly though and perhaps proof the are lies, damn lies and statistics he has the highest win ratio...

Re: Next Up - Freeman's Replacement

Two choices which would get fans excited but probably to high profile, Tim Sherwood or Steve Clarke both unemployed, but by all accounts superb on the training pitch. Whatever happens the profile of our next manager will tell us the ambition of the club. I think given were we are currently a British...

Re: Freedman out!

So in conclusion we're holding Freedman to a much lower standard than Coyle. I'm glad we've addressed that particular elephant in the room. Of course the standard is lower, Coyle took over a stable premiership team, Freedman took over a team in decline in the championship. The budgets are massively...

Re: Freedman out!

Whilst Dougie is not performing to expectations of most people on this forum, a question worth looking at is why as a club our current manager and his previous 2 incumbants performed significantly worse as Bolton managers than as managers of their previous clubs. In the ginger ones case subsequent c...

Re: Freedman out!

The fact that D Freedman is still manager is down to the fact BWFC have never been a sacking club and our current financial situation. Clearly he has not improved the club on the pitch we can not see what he has done behind the scenes with the youth section and operating within the constraints set b...

Re: The Debt.

When Phil Garside and BSA joined the club in 1999 we were in the lower have of the then First division, so as a club we are around the same place we were in 1999 in the football pyramid. The overwhelming difference is our debt has gone up from approx 20 Million in 1999 to 163 Million today which eve...

Re: Freedman out!

Having gone back and looked at The Championship table from last season after 23 Games we are 2 places and 3 points worse off, now whilst I do not think that we will get relegated under Dougie, I have grave doubts on us getting anywhere near the play offs under him this season. Our current position a...

Re: Freedman out!

So what we're looking for is a manager who's currently on his arse but also 'top drawer' A manager in the bottom three of the Prem who can lead us to the glory land of....the bottom three of the Prem. If that's the case we should have stuck with Knobson. I fully support Vincent Tan in everything he...

Re: Freedman out!

The only positive about Freedman not being sacked already is that a few decent managers have come up recently. Zola, Clarke and now Mackay are all available, and if we wait even longer, I wouldn't be shocked to see Lambert, Allardyce and a few other good managers end up getting sacked. There's more...

Re: Freedman out!

Whilst I believe given time Dougie will produce a team who can challenge for promotion from this division, if we as a club are serious about getting back to the premier league we should break the bank to get Malky Mackay who has just been sacked. Dougie is a decent manager, look what a top drawer ma...

Re: Freedman out!

SF you are a million miles out. We did very well today against a form home team . Knocking wins is just bizarre. They've only won two of their six home league games this season. When it's the last 2 scoring 8 goals and with a cup win over premier cup holders inbetween those 2 games, then 'form team...

Re: Freedman out!

It was great to win, of course, but nothing has really changed about Freedman and even in victory, he still showed the same flaws as a manager that he's done all season. We play good football sometimes, yet when we go up, instead of pushing for a second or third, we look to defend what we've got wh...
