Re: North by North West..Bolton v Fleetwood Tues 15th Aug 7-45.

If Cogley starts he's essentially super-human and fair play to him. I'd probably look at starting Jones and Ashworth as the wingbacks. We need to stop with this idea that you can play centre halves at wing back especially against Fleetwood at home. Sadlier and John and if Evatt won’t play them then...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Excellent news. One of my favourite bwfc players, exceptional attitude and application and bags of potential. Really hope he breaks through to be first choice this season.

Re: Wanderers v Cheltenham (A) 12 August - Are we up for the Gold Cup?

First 10 mins was a bit scrappy, then we took complete control. Sheehan running the show, Dempsey unplayable. Defense untroubled. If Vic and Bob can start linking up like they did for the first goal then we'll have a very good attack.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I'm thinking if everyone believed we created enough decent chances, we wouldn't have spent 12 months on here saying the chances we created were often poor, with Bradley often being the focus if that. For sure having strikers that can make an average chance into a good shooting opportunity is also p...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions

1. Champions 2. Charles 3. Us 4. Non of our lot. I think this squad is better than last season. The two midfield additions are massive, it was a weak area last season and they're exactly what we needed. We should now be able to play through teams a lot more, particularly with Sheehan playing, as wel...

Re: Pre-season 2023-24

Thoroughly enjoyed that. They all looked decent at worst. Particularly enjoyed—despite giving it away twice in dangerous areas—Thommo flying into a couple of challenges. Once fairly. Looked a good side. I suppose the only worry is the finishing, still. You've got to admire Thomasson's enthusiasm, p...

Re: Pre-season 2023-24

Cracking half of football that. Rico needs to make an error so all the scouts feck off. Better performance from the one at the weekend. They've all done well so far. Really entertaining. Adeboyejo and Charles giving their defenders no peace at all. Iredale looking like Iredale, which is a relief af...

Re: Pre-season 2023-24

Superb performance considering the level of the opposition. If I'm looking for negatives, it feels like similar problems to last season, poor crosses and profligate in front of goal. I think we still need at least one more WB a DM and probably yet another Striker.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I don't think any midfielder can count themselves as safe in the starting 11 right now. Not even CMG. Especially not if we sign the mythical midfield destroyer too. I think they've all (CMG aside) been good in patches, but none have been strong nor consistent enough to be among the first names on t...

I think Sheehan tends to play deeper than CMG will likely play.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

I'm wondering why people think we need two midfielders, presumably first teamers, given our current midfielders are so good.

I was under the impression Baccus is 10. Attacking midfielder behind the strikers type? Is this not the case?

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

No one we sign on the right will be a patch on Bradley. We'll have to improve at LWB just to compensate. And you know this because....what a ridiculous statement. Both Josh Dacres-Cogley & Kane Wilson are fast, pacy wingbacks who can both cross a ball, but you know better eh ? Bradley was a one off...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

My biggest concern is that evatt can only "see" defenders. His defence signings have been exceptional. His record for other players is meh. And Trafford aside I worry he can't see decent keepers are all. I find it hard to agree there. He (and, importantly, Markham) picked Sheehan and Morley out of ...
