Re: Huddersfield Town v BWFC, 28th Dec match thread

Then I won't mention Charlton last season when Trotter was our best player. Thing is, I only see about five or six Bolton games a season, likely I'm just unlucky and catch some folk on their rare good days. Accordingly I can only judge on what I see, as opposed to what the received wisdom might be....

Re: Rumour has it.............

All that said, my hope would be that Vela will find a place in our midfield. It's his preferred position and, with his tackling, running and passing abilities, I think he could be the new McAteer. yeah, but, yeah, but, yeah, but.... if any aspiring young player could choose between being the new Ni...

You've met LE then? I believe I have.

Re: The Joy of (Twenty-)Sixth? Rovers / Boxing Day

We were a bit shit I thought. Pure spirit and a couple of outstanding performances put us right. I know it's harsh co sediment the strike force in't 2nd half scored and assisted, but we were severely lacking up front for a lot of the game. Heskey made s difference, but Eidur (pass aside) looks off ...

Re: Rumour has it.............

Watched the Football League Show yesterday and Riley looked in good nick for Oxford. Surely it will be him at RB and Kellett/Threlkeld at LB next season? Thought Oscar T was a(nother) right-back? Yup. So, too, is Hayden White and they'll all have a job trying to oust Vela from the role the way he's...

Re: The Joy of (Twenty-)Sixth? Rovers / Boxing Day

It needs to be said, our defending was garbage. Mills and Dervite in particular. Eventually there will come a game where Lonners doesn't feel like playing like mid-00s Gigi Buffon and we'll get tanked. Mmm... One goal conceded in five games... They can't simply be garbage, can they? :conf: Yesterda...

Extended highlights just posted.
That pass from Eidur is a thing of beauty - never tire of watching it. But still have no idea how the ball stayed out of our net in that goal mouth scramble after Lonergan fumbled.

Re: The Joy of (Twenty-)Sixth? Rovers / Boxing Day

Emile Heskey. I don't think any of us ever really doubted him, did we? ;-) Midfield was being swamped for much of the first half (partly because Danns hasn't really grasped that role in front of the back four, yet, and partly because we had no one to hold the ball up front). Good chances at either e...

Re: The Joy of (Twenty-)Sixth? Rovers / Boxing Day

If I read DSB right (on the Millwall thread) one more clean sheet will be a club record. I only dug back as far as 1913... Not being greedy, even at Christmas, I'll settle for the longest run without conceding a goal for 100 years. Rhodes is clearly the main threat (maybe Wheater's task?) and they ...

Hmmm...enter Jordan Rhodes...
Let's hope Chungy, Eidur and Cravies have their shooting boots nicely laced-up.

Significant that the official highlights don't replay the Lonergan incident?

Fabulous goal by Pratley and the second time in the match Chung had set him up brilliantly.

Re: A Win Away? Millwall / Friday 19th

So, since NL took over that's 21 points from 10 games. What a feckin' turn around! :drink: I was about to make the same point (but isn't it 21 from 11?). Whatever, it's not far short of automatic promotion form. Perhaps we are this season's Southampton/Reading/Wigan? Really? Only 21 from 11 ? Lenno...

Any thoughts on this? Anybody know anything about Templeton? (Not making the line-up for a moderate Scottish Championship side?)
