Re: Crewe Friendly Game...
Similar to Nolan when he was at Bolton, Pratley seems to be reliant on good, ball-playing midfielders playing around him to be effective. He made that many runs into good positions last season, only for the ball to be knocked long to Davies, played backwards, kicked out of play or to the opposition ...

Re: Burnley Tickets
As per the pricing model on Burnley's website, it looks like you (or your sources) have it spot on, P.O.S.
We're listed as a Category A game, for which tickets as an Adult non-member are £31.

Re: Burnley Tickets
31 quid???!!! They're having a laugh surely?? That's scandalous! Aren't the away ticket prices agreed and set by both clubs and we'll be charging them the same, or have I been told an untruth? That rings a bell but I'm also wondering if you - and I - are getting confused with the ol' rule that you ...

Posted quite a few times already, but never formally introduced myself as such. Been a Wanderers fan for as long as I can remember. First made the journey to Burnden Park in the 96/97 season as an eight year-old with my old man and have been hooked ever since. A two-nil victory against Pompey was my...

Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
Anyone here subscribe to Wanderers Player on the official website? Never been too interested before, but with us playing in the second-tier next season, decent highlights may be difficult to come by. Not too bothered with the player interviews and suchlike, but is it worth the subscription fee for t...

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Indeed and, to his credit, it looks as though Coyle has realised this, as per his pursuit of both Carlos Sanchez and Oriol Romeu.
Doubt we'll sign either, but at least we've recognised that we need to sign that sort of player.

It'll be a 'Bolton Wanderers XI' rather than the first-team, I'd imagine.

No goals conceeded in knock-out football since 2006. At the very highest level.

Pah. Possession-schmossession. Get it in the mixer. Johnny Foreigner doesn't like it up him. Let's get back to basics - we'll stuff these upstarts come the next world cup. All hail Charles Reep. Aye, let's get Graham Taylor in the hotseat too. 'Go Les, Hit Les, Hit Les over the top. Fackin' ell'. :D

Found that comment to be a rather poignant reminder of where we were not too long ago.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:... I believe clubs involved in European competition get a further round off after we enter.

Re: Olympic Squad
Giggs' lack of pace means he's a central midfielder nowadays. In fact, I think he's been selected more for the experience and influence that he has rather than to make much impact on the pitch. With just the three forwards selected, Pearce seems to have faith in Our Marv and he should see some game ...

Pleased enough with Zat's decision to re-sign, he's more capable than most centre-back's in this division, at least in terms of talent if not concentration.

Two decent sides tonight, competitive with some good football to boot.
Poland v Czech Republic this Saturday now becomes must-watch. As is tomorrow's match between the Netherlands and Germany.
Good tournament so far.

Re: Players you wished we'd kept
Whilst reading about Obadeyi's move to Rio Ave in the transfer thread, it got me thinking about Rodrigo Moreno at Benfica. An enigma when he was with us, but in the Champions League last season he looked like he'd started to become the player that he sometimes threatened to be.
