Re: Next gigg: Bury (A) Monday, 24/10/16, 19:45 (Sky Sports
There was a point in the second half where Bury had had 80% recent possession. We're looking strong but I might not call it dominant; repellent, perhaps. As somebody pointed out, it's just what Dougie wanted: to control the game without the ball. Maybe he'll manage it at Wigan - they've already got...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
I'm just wondering whether we'll pick up anyone who's now out of contract. According to PP, a sixth deal fell through at 9.30 pm on Thursday, so presumably he would like another one in. Ken Anderson said we had three more players we'd have liked to have signed, and would have been allowed to. Mind ...

Sounding like this could end up 2 points lost rather than a point won... Keep going though lads!

Re: Southend (H) match thread 3/9/16 (3pm)
Will Parky put all the newbies straight into the team or feed them in gently so as to not disrupt what is a winning team? I hope its the latter... Parky seems to have managed, against the odds, to get the team playing for each other. With five new additions he'll have to be a bit careful about undo...

Re: Southend (H) match thread 3/9/16 (3pm)
I think this must be the most optimistic match thread in years! Even Insane reckons we'll be unstoppable shortly. Iles has written a piece about us being possible champions. This doesn't bode well..... Yes need to keep our collective feet on the ground, plenty clubs have good starts to seasons and ...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
Loans? Henry and Ameobi MkII are only six-month loans, sadly; let's hope we impress each other enough to carry on. Keshi for the season, Alnwick "permanent" I think 6 month things aren't a bad idea for us. Let's review where we get to by January. Also might have to release more to sign for longer. ...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
Henry, Ameobi, Alwnick and Anderson signed. blimey - I reckon that leaves us stronger than before the window!! :-) Most certainly. I'm quite impressed with what both the new owners and Parky have been able to do with our limited resources this summer. The team is stronger than before and we now see...

So Henry and Ameobi are both loans until January, possible that they could be extended then?

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
No point in crying about our embargo situation. It's shite but there's no one to blame but ourselves. That may be true but that the FL is so hard on us but doesn't bat an eyelid at Championship clubs spending £10m+ on individual players is somewhat frustrating... They can only judge these things by...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
It's the shitness of our situation really, and really it sort of makes a mockery of what the FL are intending to do to us. We're having to let low wage youngsters go to try and make room for players who we might even be paying more to. I'd like to keep Woolery and Walker and see how they develop ov...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
I'm disappointed that Woolery is going. I think there's a decent forward in him that just needs the right coaching and some match time. For me, he's a better bet than Clough. Put them together and you've got a real player, but I'd much rather have Clough's natural talent than the athleticism of Woo...

Re: Bristol Rovers (a) match thread 17/08/16
Bearing in mind we got a mind-focusing twatting early doors by Southend in '96 (5-2 wasn't it?) I'll take whatever result ultimately leads to our promotion. The pedants amongst you no doubt saying "surely a win?", but you can prove anything with facts. I hope that the Blackpool game actually served...

Re: Nice to be wombling again! - Wimbledon (A) 13/08/16
Second half was much better, we were by far the better team. Tactics were dodgy I thought though, game was crying out for some width and especially in the first half we were just spraying long balls all over the shop with no-one to get on the end of them. Vela looked lost, I think he needs to refocu...
