Re: Summer 2020 transfers

A while back I heard an interview with a player who was critical of players he saw as lacking bravery. He alleged that some footballers keep a very close eye on their opta stats and prefer to take the easier option of keeping possession than attempt something creative. So far, this describes Comley ...

Re: Pragmatism vs Perseverance

We can play out from the back and it's perfectly possible. There are greater priorities right now though. Get the back 3 or 4 to forget any notion for now of getting forward. Remember that they are defenders first and foremost and that they'd rather die than concede a goal. Spend all this week pract...

Re: What's the collective noun for a group of wheelchair bound detectives? Newport County at home. 26th Sep 2020 3.00pm

The abandonment of the 3-5-2 formation already, is worrying. Evatt looks like he's scrabbling around hoping to stumble on a winning formula without us being remotely close to getting the basics right yet. In his defence he started with a 4 at Barrow and shifted to a 3, so it's not alien to him. Fai...

I just don't see any positives. We're creating nowt up top, hopeless in possession and utterly appalling at the back. A few more weeks of that and we'd have to rip it all up and start again.

Our defending on corners is the worst I've ever seen from a professional side. Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I apologise if I've missed it, but we're not actually meant to be zonal marking here are we? It's like we're not sure what we're supposed to be. For a minute we look like a side trying t...

Delfounso and Hickman have been the bright spots. Santos, Comley and Crawford have been bloody awful. Our defending on corners is the worst I've ever seen from a professional side.

The Oysters? I never knew that.
Better this weekend but I can't see a clam like defence yet. Pearl's before swine. Oysters ahead of Trotters. 2-1 loss. Doyle gets off the mark.

Barrow's poor start last season is a glimmer of hope, sounds like it clicked all of a sudden and they went on a brilliant run.
I think that's the hope many of us are hanging onto. It is hard though, to imagine that group yesterday going on a long unbeaten run.

How long did Keith Hill get before everyone jumped down his throat? It's pathetic. We're a beaten beast that needs to repair it's wounds before it can go on the attack. Give it time. I agree entirely with your sentiment, and what's happened to Sarcevic is out of order but let's not reinvent history...

We've not hired another Dougie Freedman have we?

Feckin awful. Santos, Jones, Comley and Gordon introduced new levels of shiteness

Lazy, cowardly play so far. It felt that way, didnt it? The experienced players and White, looking to be positive and move forward. Santos, Jones, Comley and Gordon treating the ball like a hot potato and looking sideways or to hoof it, just so long as they're not in possession. Greenidge should ha...

We've totally surrendered the initiative by our awful use of the ball. Some players not taking responsibility and little zip or movement when we're in possession. Must do better

Re: Wrecking Crewe - In search of a Tin Pot to piss in. Crewe Alex (H). FL Trophy 7PM 8/9/2020

How good was Mikael Mandron? Or did our back 3 make him look extra special? He certainly looked more Championship level on that performance and the kind of money ball signing we ought to aspire to. Defensively we were awful but that was as much a collective thing, as well as the 3 centre backs all s...
