Re: Top 5 of all time...

Way back when, high excitement as The Platters were appearing at Bolton's Empress club. For whatever reason,( maybe the smoke got in their eyes? ) they lasted two nights before getting cancelled and sent packing. Turned out to be just Great Pretenders. ae:) I remember Pembroke halls turning ...

Maddison has left the club. Hope he gets the help and support he needs.
Just seen that. Hear hear. There's a lot of talent there but it's no use without good health. Best of luck to him.

Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO

I'd be delighted with a 1-1 draw. They've a decent squad, a great home record and a good coach.

I'll be staggered if he starts with Madison. I've lost faith that he'll come good for us and he'll be long gone by August.

Re: This weeks RIP's........

Doug Holden, Bolton regular winger in the fifties and one of the 1953 F.A. Cup side, passed away today ages 90. Much loved and one of the "Holden, Moir, Lofthouse, Hassall and Langton" regular Bolton forward line I saw him play many times. . God Bless Dougie, Rest in Peace. He was the last BWFC pla...

Lee can't have touched it. On current form, if he had, it would definitely have gone wide!

Re: Something in the water? V Harrogate, home, 3-0'clock Sat 10-04 -21

Last couple of games it hasn't felt like we've controlled the game and the tempo like we did in many of the previous games. Vale, Bradford, Forest Green etc They prevented us from playing out from the back, so we resorted to often just lumping it forward but the 3 behind Doyle were incapable of maki...

Very encouraging comeback. Must admit at halftime I was annoyed and decided that on that performance I couldn't justify letting the future Mrs LE grout the bathroom alone, so I switched off. Was delighted to see the final score.
And the reason for our turnaround is right there..

George Thomasson was the difference for me. His introduction seemed to galvanise a few and like him, the others were snapping into the tackles. For a lad who was at Bamber Bridge last year, to be replacing the ineffective Madison and driving the side forward, was great to see.

Have we ever come out for a 2nd half all guns blazing and playing far better than we did in the 1st?

I'm struggling to think of a time when we have. Would be a good time to start

We're not going to dominate possession today, since no one can seem to hang onto the feckin thing
I credit Harrogate for that. Their rapid closing-down is little short of superb.
True. There's space behind them though if one or two show a little more composure.
