Re: Matchday Programmes

Won't they have ones from earlier games in the club shop? They used to.

Oh and Lawrie Wilson, Lewis Buxton and Marc Wilson. Not sure I'd recognise any of em if they were sat across from me.

Are we not going to bide our time until the current Plymouth manager becomes available? :D
Just catching up with this thread. As per the Paul Ince suggestion, if you're reading this Sharon, this too ^ is a joke.

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

This dark cloud is actually Ian Evatt and his over complicated tactics. Ultimately yes. Personally speaking he was right though. Whilst I still love going to games some of that enthusiasm has certainly been dampened since Wembley. Despite the large crowds, superb for division 3, you could detect a ...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

I'd never want to see us lose but equally I'm not sure a win on Saturday will shift the dark cloud that Evatt referred to. For any of us. Speaking of dark clouds, perhaps it's as well we're playing Reading this weekend. They're certainly one group of fans at the moment who could say; "You think you'...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Like most, I'm staggered with what's happened this past 72 hours. Only thing we can do as fans ,or should do, is give those in white our full backing.

It'll be a strange atmosphere but I think we'll win.

Re: The ianevattable sacking

We give the players stick for losing their heads and not showing fight. I can't say I've seen much of that from the fans either. Agree with much of what you wrote (Morais was a Parky signing though - finally coming up trumps from his old club after signing two duck eggs) but you can feck off with t...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

A surprising and imo, poor decision but I can't get too worked up about it. Thing is, even if we go on and win our next 10 league games (we won't by the way) there'll still be the sound of rattling pitchforks when we lose the 11th. Evatts lost the crowd and I can't see him winning them back now.

Re: Grecians from Devon? At home to Exeter Sat,31st Aug ,3-0'clock

Alex Neill for me. I think he'd do for us, what he did for Sunderland. Organise a good squad of players and not accept anything less than total commitment to the cause. Ryan Lowe sounded like he'd fallen out with football when he left PNE and without Schumacher I'm unconvinced. Why not Nolan? If he...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Apropos of nowt I saw a story on that lad who was on loan at Charlton 2 seasons back, Raki something from Palace. Palace are apparently asking £2m to loan him out this time and the player asking any loan club to up his current wages by around 700%.

Re: Down in The Valley, something stirred. V Charlton Athletic away Sat Aug 24th 3-0 'clock.

Is The Valley our happiest hunting ground? We've won our last 3 league games there and I can think of several notable previous ones - Youri's overhead kick, Sneekes' two thunderbastards and as far back as a midweek 4-0 triumph, the first year we missed out on promotion in the mid 70s. We can win the...

Re: Confidence-Builder or Unnecessary Distraction? Mansfield (h), 13/08, 19:45

Poor performance. Could have been 3 down inside 20 minutes. Like Saturday we seemed to be going more direct and bypassing the midfield. Positives - Tutu and Matete both have a very good 1st touch. Tomo's goal deserved to win any cup tie. Vic was direct and impressive. Southwood calm and composed. Ne...

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread

Yeah the greatest Bolton Wanderers game I’ve ever had the pleasure to attend. Note the goals. Two passes, one touch - goal! Ball across edge of the 6 yard box. No turning to pass it sideways fifteen times. No ‘have to cut the ball back’. Football when it was actually great. https://x.com/officialbw...

Best team won. Unlike previous tournaments we didn't lose to the first strong side we played but barely did ourselves justice both tonight and over the whole tournament.

Disappointing but not wholly unexpected.

Re: Five Year EFL Deal: Death of the 3pm?

What’s the crack with the first game - all games on Sky. But are they on the Now Tv day pass version I get or subscription only channels? It's no change for Sky Sports subscribers, just the red button to select which game you want. That was my understanding anyway. Worth subscribing for if you don'...
