Re: Cam v Croal a Punting Challenge: League 2, Cambridge v Bolton (A) Saturday October 24 14:00

That was much better than we all feared and shows just how tight this division is. The players had more belief than we've seen all season and that makes a huge difference. Evatt shouldn't have chewed out Crellin in public. Having said that, Crellin has been at fault for too many goals and the one vs...

Re: Cam v Croal a Punting Challenge: League 2, Cambridge v Bolton (A) Saturday October 25 14:00

The thing is that we are in League Two, so anyone really can beat anyone. Cambridge have a striker who has better than a goal a game ratio this season, but who could barely get in the Tranmere side previously. This is a division where organisation and attitude really matter. Everything says we are g...

Re: Cam v Croal a Punting Challenge: League 2, Cambridge v Bolton (A) Sunday October 25 15:00

Of the teams (4) that have worse goals conceded than us, 2 of them are only worse because they got tanked 5-0 by Cambridge.

This could be very, very ugly.

Yeah, that's inexcusable from Baptiste. Even if that were Senior you'd be having a stern word with the lad, but for a player of his experience to do that is ridiculous. He needs dropping for numerous reasons, but that is the icing on the cake.

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

I knew he was on in real time, I wanted to blame it all on Baptiste cos he's shit, but Brockbank is also playing him on just out of shot of that picture. It's really the managers fault for playing Baptiste and playing Brockbank out of position. Well, Spartan, I'd say that Brockbank is a novice bein...

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

Doyle's heat-map is also more prevalent on the left of centre mid and centre circle. Arthur popped up both left and right around the 18 yard box line. No idea how accurate WhoScored heat maps is at an individual level, but that ties in roughly with what I thought I saw :-) In old money....Doyle kep...

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

For what it's worth, I thought Brockbank did alright out of position. He clearly wasn't playing as a wing-back, but he was solid enough. I find it hard to believe, on current evidence, that we'd have had more chance of winning if we'd have started Gordon. Mascoll I can't comment on as I've seen ver...

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

There were odd signs in Kioso and Gnahoua. But when it boils down to it we've picked up 2 points from 9 from the few teams below us in the league... I'll take the minority position and say I thought Gnahoua was mostly garbage. His run selection is terrible and he makes really poor decisions in gene...

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

I'm aware of that. I still think we're in big trouble and I I'd prefer us to try playing a more convential system, but this is a new squad who were in dire need of a confidence boost. We found ourselves in a right scrape early on, and we've managed to just about get ourselves out of it. For a group...

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

Yup. The fact we scored three was fairly disconnected from the possession we had and what we did with it. That it could've been 5-5 was testament to how disorganised both sides looked. Two set pieces and Doyle completely unmarked in the middle of the box. Both sides needed the other to do them favo...

I think Sarcevic ran to celebrate the coaching staff after scoring. I desperately hope it's the moment that galvanises us.
We all want that. God knows we need a spark, but it'll mean nothing unless the organisation and team selection also improve. We need everyone to step up.

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

In all seriousness and knowing how this is going to go down...this team is crying out for a Jay Spearing. Someone who will sit there and organise the lads behind him and just put his foot in. Obviously someone over 3' tall and with some degree of professionalism would help, but we need the sort.

Crawford just can’t be picked Saturday. Definition of lazy.
Crawford and Baptiste, the two lads who were supposed to provide some higher division quality to each of their departments, both need dropping. I like Crawford, but he's not showing up for whatever reason. Baptiste is done.

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

I'm still not sure what you think Crellin did wrong? His decision-making was awful all game. He almost cost us two goals when he came out and misjudged. He can't command his box and is awful on crosses. He's young, it is stuff he can learn - but you can easily see why he is nowhere near Fleetwood's...

So was our Ronan any good when he came on?
Yes and no. He was bossed physically by the experienced lads in Barrow's midfield. They knew the ref was generous when they went in hard so they just kept fouling him. He was better than Crawford.

As we were breathing a sigh of relief and thinking Evatt has bought himself another game, Barrow fans were calling for Dunn’s head... Even with the point, they'd be well within their rights to sack Evatt after that. Shambolic defending, a centre back on the left wing, not using his subs...diabolica...

His legs have gone. He had a 10 yard start on a Barrow player who himself had no pace and still lost out. He was shattered at half time.

I'd argue that we have plenty of "entrances" in that team at the minute. Useless entrances the lot of them.

Re: A Barrow load of trouble. Barrow (A) League 2. 20/10/20 KO 7pm

Have to say that the fact we didn't win that game falls squarely on the manager and the fact we scraped a draw is down to some players actually wanting it. Darcy got bullied physically when he came on, but did add some drive and a bit of the vocals we generally lack. Had Evatt made changes at the ha...
