Na. Get yourself to Wembley, matey.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 3:55 pmGiven my "record" of finals, I've elected to take one for the team, and not go....thank me later.
It's 5 years since Sky had that stupid "count down to extinction" clock up for us. This is our biggest game since then.
We should all be there for it.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Lovely to have you back, Ghost. I was thinking this morning that as it stands, we have four midfielders next season - Sheehan, Thomo, Dempsey and Morley. I assume we'll go for Paris if possible, but that still leaves space for one more. Could be Byers. Just hope we don't get... wait for it... Byers...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Sounds useful, especially when Thomason is suspended! Presumably Paris is the #1 target in midfield. Sheehan is player of the year and everyone else is under a long contract. So I suppose it depends on whether Evatt feels that department is strong enough as is and just needs a reliable Championship...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
What type of midfielder is he Ghost? Welcome back btw :) Thomason sort, I suppose. Really committed, runs all day and technically solid. Particularly good in the box on attacking set pieces. Easy to like. Fans never seem to have a bad word to say about him and he's popular with staff/players. Has a...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
First "proper" rumour of the summer is George Byers, who just left Sheff Weds on a free after a loan at Blackpool. A midfielder who used to play in Swans' U23s with Josh Sheehan. Quite a few games in the Championship, but with a history of niggly injuries. Played a major part for Wednesday in League...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
He'd have 'proven himself' unable to get out of this division... not sure it would create a queue at the door. Yeah, but he'll have admirers. If we don't go up we are almost certain to lose key players and may require a genuine rebuild. I'm really not sure Evatt will fancy it. If that were the case...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Well, given that my birthday falls on the weekend of the final I've given myself a couple of weeks off to enjoy myself. I live over in Yorkshire, but there's a local old chap and his wife who "follow" Wanderers and have family in London and weren't going to go due to travel, so I'm taking them down ...

Na, it was just an ignorant dig. At least own it.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 11:56 amThe context of what Dion in a slump is doing relative to other players is important.
If you've watched Dion and Vic recently and think Dion has played as well as Vic fair enough. It's absurd, but what can anyone say at this stage?

Re: There's a Moose loose about these U's, Cambridge United Away 6th Feb 2024
Not going tomorrow as it's Mr Ghost's birthday and apparently a late away day at Cambridge doesn't count as a "nice night out." All this "Dion or Vic or Collins or Bod" stuff is grand, but ultimately they're all good players and can all play together. The manager has to decided which pairing is most...

We were dire for a lot of that. We set up expecting the "new and improved Barnsley" and they played us like it was the play-offs. We were better for a short spell at the start of the second, but then fell to pieces. Only real positive was that the subs had a genuine impact. Tie it off and move on. W...

Try telling that to professional footballers whose kids get beaten up at school because of stuff written about their dad online.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 10:16 amWRT social media, life works the way you choose to let it. Social media is not compulsory.

Didn’t see it but I hear the right-back they brought on as substitute gave away the penalty for the equaliser and the free kick for the winner. Oops. Yeah, it won't be pretty for him either. Some really tired defending, which you can understand as Korea kept hitting the space around him and forcing...

Said he was the worst player ever to play for Australia, they wish he'd chosen Wales, hoped his injury was bad, that sort of thing.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 6:52 pmHadn’t seen any animosity from their fans - they not appreciative of Geth?

I was hoping he'd go and win the tournament but I'll be glad he's back Gutted for Geth, to be honest. Would have loved him to have that on his CV and as a life experience. However, their fans have been dicks and with him they probably win that match. Both goals came down his side and Korea were as ...

Fair play. That was a superb double save.
Baxter would have tipped the first one away from danger, though.
