Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public

People with mental health problems should not vote, no matter what age to be fair. Given the attitude of some perhaps five would be an appropriate time to be given the vote because they are setting off on the lifelong course of education and work? No, thought not. I notice the 'give them adult resp...

Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public

Oh, and for what it's worth, the stupid idea of conscription by the short pant legged idiot should not be considered either.
The professional forces don't need woke lazy types forced upon them.

Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public

Someone please tell me what a old fogie has a clue about what is going on in the world with real issues other than what The Daily Mail tells them? Just as legitimate a gripe. Beg to differ fella. You like a lot of a certain type seem to peddle the 'believe what you read in the mail types' myth. Per...

Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public

If sixteen is old enough to vote then they are old enough to be treated like adults, I.e. Stop withholding the names of the criminals, adult jail time, stop referring to them as 'children' or in some warped minds, babies. Someone please tell me what a 16yo has a clue about what is going on in the wo...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Or..... Maybe the thought of walking/sacking hasn't crossed either IE's/Sharon's minds, and only exists in a few anonymous internet forummers (is that a word?) & BEN story commenters (another one - is that a word, or is it commentators?) opinions, so nobody feels any form of official statement is n...

I think my favourite aspect of the Gareth Ainsworth suggestion is that one of the complaints about Evatt is he can't adapt his football.

In terms of adaptability to different habitats Ian Evatt is a footballing triffid vs the hoofball Orchid that is Gareth Ainsworth.

Let's get rid of a manager with a reluctance to change his nice football
And hire a manager with a reluctance to change his horrible football

Sounds grrrrrrrreat
Mmmm never played much brilliant football under Sam, but we got what really matters, results.

My commiserations to all the hard-core supporters on here, more so the poor buggers faced with a long trip home. I don't watch wanderers games anymore but follow some commentary and posts such as on here, these are a few things that seem to stand out. The manger is a reasonable low league manager wi...

Re: General Chit Chat

Had one of those extremely funny episodes on Tuesday at work, sat on the PC when there was sudden squealing and three young female colleagues legging it in different directions. Hey up I thought, what's going on and trundled over for a gander. Turns out there was a large spider in a box they were m...

Re: General Chit Chat

It depends what you are using it for. If it's an extension for the likes of a utility room for dryers, freezers etc, I wouldn't go timber, higher fire risk. Having said that, I moved our freezers and dryer out of the house to a little wooden cabin in the garden but it's away from the house. The othe...

Growth is finite, not without limits, those selling it as the constant and only way forward lie. I find it funny how more and more of the real wealthy are slowly backing away from the rise of AI that will eventually kill their market. The youth of today, influencers etc, usually shallow people are a...

Re: The Politics Thread

I just wrote out a longish reply, then realised the futility of bothering. We'll never live in a world where enough is enough. Greed is an incurable disease. "What doth it profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffers the loss of his soul?" Jesus asked. Well, I guess we'll know one day unles...

Phil Foden is a super, special player. Has to start for England. You'd hope so, wouldn't you? Because he's also brilliantly flexible positionally, which would allow for in-game tweaks, let aloine in-tournament. I'm not Southgate (clearly) but I can't see how he leaves him out now, especially in a 4...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....

Been following the Post Office/Horizon scandal for a number of years with some professional curiosity. The excellent Mr Bates v Post Office nailed it. But there clearly needs people held to account, because some of the statements made are just untenable. I don't for one minute believe, between Fuji...
