Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Thomason captain then? Can’t have done much for santos confidence? Sometimes it's just worth taking Santos out of the firing line. Captaincy doesn't help him avoid pressure. It’s a decision that should have been made this summer. Reactive, not proactive now. I like Thommo a lot. Easily my favourite...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Big Sam weighs in. I suspect this has become a significant issue for Evatt now. When greats of the club are openly criticising him in public over his one note style then well it’s bad news. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24599547.ex-bolton-wanderers-boss-sam-allardyce-ian-evatt-style/ Aye he...

Re: Between the lines. Home to Reading, Sat 21st Sept/ 3'oclock.

Controversial question: How many of us wouldn’t mind a defeat on Saturday if it led to Evatt being moved on?

Overall I’d rather we won, but I definitely wouldn’t be too upset if we lost and it precipitated a change.

He also says: I know a lot of the lads are privileged to be coached by him compared to coaches they have had in the past, and he has given a lot to us as players, brought us on a lot. “I would personally hate to see him go, but I am not one to sway decisions or comment on things like that because i...

Man United U21s Assistant Manager would be a bold hire indeed.

I mean, if we lose this one he’s definitely gone, right?

Re: The ianevattable sacking

If he were attainable then yeah, Schumacher would be great. However, as discussed on the other thread, he’s probably going not going to be short of Championship offers over the coming months. He’d also have been on maybe treble the money we’d be able to pay him.

Re: The ianevattable sacking

No idea what Craddock’s role was, and I suppose there’s a minute possibility that he was culpable for our current form, but this decision certainly looks like a blame-shifter, and doesn’t sit at all well with me. First Team Coach... Sorry, I should’ve said that I have no idea what Craddock was actu...

Re: Options for the next manager

Schumacher is a very interesting shout. I'm never sure about "brains of the operation" claims - as I've said, Lowe continued to improve PNE on a very sticky wicket – and Schumacher had a good off-field operation behind him (youth team, great loans), but he certainly did well there. Fair enough, he ...

There's rumours this morning of another backroom change.

Craddock out.
That would suggest that Evatt is staying then.

Re: Options for the next manager

Lowe was Schumacher’s boss originally wasn’t he? Was he the brains of the operation? There’s certainly been suggestions of that given how well Schumacher did with Plymouth after Lowe left. Whilst I don’t think many of us would be opposed to hiring Schumacher, I’d guess that he won’t have to wait lo...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

DSB’s favourite Twitter ‘itk’ charlatan just intimated that Evatt’s a goner.

It’s worth remembering that he also suggested we’d be getting both Fossey and Paris back, so this should be taken with a cellar full of salt.

Re: The ianevattable sacking

I think the owners are new to football, aren't they? I'm not expecting a change. Haven't they talked about loyalty in the past? I think everyone hopes each manager is a Big Sam, or Alex Ferguson or Dario Gradi. Maybe they have a good working relationship. I don't know how urgent promotion is financ...

Re: Options for the next manager

I’ve mentioned his name a few times, and in terms of experience he’d very much fall into the Mousinho/Buckingham category, but I do wonder whether Nolan would be a serious candidate. Maybe someone like Ghost is more clued up with regards to his coaching abilities, but the word out of West Ham was th...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

Just five games into the season, I find it difficult to see Evatt resigning or FV sacking him. My guess - and it's no more than that - is that he'll get at least another ten league games: i.e. a third of a season, which takes us to around mid-November. This season doesn’t exist in a vacuum, Tone. T...

I’m at a seafood festival in Hastings following this shite on the live text. Must be the end for Evatt.
