The weather in bleakest South Yorkshire looks like it might be shite during the game tomorrow. Inclement conditions not typically in our favour of late…

Though I would say you are correct in that Collins and Charles will start as I just can’t see Vic being ready having not played in months. Twas not I that said so, but the all knowing Bolton News....https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24292900.bolton-wanderers-victor-adeboyejo-poised-barnsley-ret...

Talk football. Talk Adeboyejo. Word is Vic may be fit to start. What say?
Collins and Charles will start unless either has picked up an injury.

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

I think we can be very confident that our players will be taking Barnsley very seriously. They did after all knock us out at this stage last season, and revenge is typically a strong motivator. We may also have a 'wounded animal' mentality as much as them, given that we missed out on our primary tar...

I think that will be a resounding no, DSB.

The locals also seem extremely restless and there's talk that not many might show up on Friday.

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

I don’t think Barnsley have the time to do anything which would materially improve their chances now. On a different note, do we think Vic, Dan and Jerome all make the bench? Personally I think we need to save a space for Coleman, so I’d be leaving Dan out. Vic on the bench having not played for mo...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm

What we do not want, is Thomason being the one who gets the ball deep. he was their trigger last time we played them in that first half and they hurt us. Get the ball into Sheehan and get around the ref every time they try and saw him in half Yeesh aye I've been having day-nightmares about this sin...

Hypothetically, would you take a draw on Friday?
We have pretty much everything in our favour going into Friday, so anything less than a win would be disappointing for me.

With all due respect, I’m certain that neither set of players will give a feck what Marc Iles writes.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

The ‘general on the pitch’ thing I feel is a bit overstated. Iredale also seems to be a vocal leader who battles as hard as anyone. I think there are many ways to be "general on the pitch" which don't necessarily point to over the top tackles and shouting/pointing.. If you think about Kante or Modr...

Thomason hasn’t been playing well but still is far more effective than Dempsey has been. So I’m not sure on the logic there. Dempsey becomes invisible too often.
He’s not been far more effective than Dempsey recently. I don’t think you’d have many of our fans in your corner for this one.

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

Thomason & Jones really poor yesterday, I think Thomason needs a rest and Jones although he's one of Evatt's favourites has been poor all season in the RCB position. I know he's decent going forward but Toal is a much better RCB and we need to stop conceding so many goals & IMO Jones is a big reaso...

I'm not that fussed about whether we can stick 18 past Utd kids and convince ourselves that makes a great team. The time is now. The time is here. Put up or shut up.
That game really left an impression on you, eh?

Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

Regardless of what division we're in, the defence needs looking at in the summer. Yes, we've missed so many gilt-edged chances but we're second top scorers. Pompey and Derby have gone up conceding 10+ fewer. I’m confused as to why Jones is first choice, but next season presumably it’d be a three of...

Thomason’s surely played himself out of the starting lineup for next week.
