Re: Administration and recovery
I'm puzzled by the situation in which we now find ourselves. If the EFL still penalises the club for its past fiscal demeanour (i.e. its previous owners) why should that devolve to a new owner who has satisfied all debts, including the tax man, and shown the ability to now support the financial par...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Just seen today that Gary Cahill is available on a free transfer. If only..... Those were the days. Last time we were in embargo, we were reduced to a ceiling of £4,500 weekly wage; Gaz's elapsing contract is (per The Sun) £75,000 per week. And good on him. I often wonder how different things might...

Re: Administration and recovery
Something needs to happen soon else next season will be upon us before we know. As for points deduction, 12 for admin I sincerely hope the EFL do not punish the fans any further else it would be a pointless season for a paying spectators perspective. Those players that jumped ship want flogging for...

Re: The next manager
I think you are a bit harsh on Reidy. I would be happy with Nolan. He has been quiet during all this palaver. Watching and waiting.

On the Bolton News website today, Peter Reid looks like he is throwing his hat into the ring. Could do worse.

Re: Administration and recovery
Anything more than 3 points for Brentford game will be harsh as it bore no relevance to the outcome of the league. If anything it should be a fine for the difference from the increase in winnings for Brentfords final position. We'll get a massive deduction as a warning to other clubs. Pay your staf...

Re: Administration and recovery
Cost of purchase could be £1. The administrators are not working on behalf of Ken Anderson. I imagine a pence in the £ rate will be agreed to pay non football unsecured creditors, a sum for football and secured creditors and a sum per season over 2 seasons to run the club.
I think, perhaps....

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Most Championship clubs have now submitted their retained list, thereby also announcing which players are leaving at the end of their contracts. Assuming we're put under the usual rules of transfer embargo and not permitted to spend fees, these free-transfer players listed below are the market we'l...

One we've missed? Sam Allardyce, an old style centre half, has moved from Bury to Oxford. He's Big Sam's grandson. Does that make anyone feel a bit older knowing that?

Re: Contract expiry
I tend to think that if a player is in his 20s and not established as a first team player he isn't ever going to be, at this club. Further down the pyramid, maybe.
Well, we are one step down so it's now or never for the 20 plusses.

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
For a number of months now: Good outcome: Having the ability to sit in a cold, mostly empty Unibol in November watching a miserable goalless draw with Fleetwood/Tranmere etc Bad outcome: Wondering if one should get involved in the formation of Bolton2019NewCo FC whilst considering the possibility o...

Re: How Many Points Will We Be Deducted?
When's that feck* Harvey being escorted off the premises? Probably in our interests that's he's involved in our disciplinary process in that a bit of carpet sweeping might be in his personal interests. After the playoff final beanfeasts, at least. Can't miss a free knees-up. I don't think a date ha...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
The Sun have Spurs down as favourites to sign Connell. I thought that there was a rule that the original club was entitled to a sell on clause for all future transfers, though I don't know the percentages involved.
If Spurs sell Connell to Barca in 5 years for £100 Mill we should be quids in.

Re: How Many Points Will We Be Deducted?
Macclesfield apparently nearly went on strike. I think they'll want to knock that on the head. Think we'll get 12 for admin and another 3 for Brentford. Think they'll say it would've been more but didn't want to double count. I agree with the 3 for Brentford. Only precedent is Boro at Blackburn yea...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
This is... interesting. Ken's now claiming he's filed for admin, which (as I understand it) gives him a bit more control but costs him more. There's notably careful delineation between BWFC and Burnden Leisure, although perhaps accidentally careful, considering they can't even spell "Fildraw" corre...
