Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Not sure what to make of Markham's tweet last night congratulating Ms Brittan on an award.

Good times are coming

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

On belief - do people genuinely believe Evatt will win promotion next season given what seem likely budgetary constraints and knowing the other teams in this league? Because I’m seeing a lot of ‘we don’t want anyone else’ but few people who genuinely seem to think that will be the outcome. No not w...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I think there's been little shortage of solutions offered (just by Insano :-) ). Apparently they range from a Sean Dyche parody, to stick and hold your hand. It's sorta down to "belief" right now, because there are decent arguments, both sides. We could do with something from the Club that lets us ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

A few rumours of Rangers CB Connor Goldson joining us, if true I'm not sure how we afford his wages never mind any fee. One that would make everyone happy, I'd imagine. Loads of experience, good on the ball, physical, reads the game well. What's the sourcing? Its all over twitter, but it can't be t...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

A take...as in a bold opinion. Not as in a "piss take", Bertie. I obviously don't agree with you, but I don't begrudge you your view. I hold a lot of views about football that would have me in a minority, I'd suggest this is one of yours. I think most Bolton fans would say we've seen a very good mi...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

We quite clearly are in a better position than Charlton! There's a league and everything. It's the whole point. If Charlton finish above us next season then we aren’t. Thing is I never said or claimed that Charlton are better than us, all I said is that against us last season at the Reebok I was im...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

It's my opinion based on what I see live watching us play. Just because some people are talking about Thomason being a future captain, doesn't mean that he's good enough for a top 2 league 1 team (I'd say that he's a decent mid table player), same with Maghoma who's a decent player but again I don't...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

As delighted as when they scored three at our gaff? Interesting example, given the topic. Very rarely seen a team miss a player as much as we missed Santos in that one. Overall I'd say I'm precisely as delighted as you get to be by finishing 34 points above a team that's spending more money than yo...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I go back to the last time we won a league. We had outstanding players. But a midfield of Frandsen, Sellars, Sheridan and Pollock. With Thommo and Johansen in the mix too. They could all play but they also wouldn’t lose any single physical scrap the division offered. I like Thomason a lot but he is...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

This group doesn't go to war, which is a problem . Part of fixing that may be changing who has the title of "captain", but it may just be about changing personalities in the group and leaving the armband where it is. None of us are in there and so that's one topic none of us can really say "I know ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Dave, there is nothing wrong with trying to stay positive - its actually quite admirable. At the same time just because people want a change it doesn't mean that they are angry. As I said earlier there is very little positivity in the fan base around town at the moment after the play off debacle - t...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I think that we need some positive / uplifting news ASAP, as being out & about over the BH weekend the fans are completely deflated & flat - no one I spoke to is positive about next season.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

I agree with Dibs, if he's gone I think that we would have heard by now (at least a rumour or 2) - therefore unfortunately I think he's staying so its highly to be more of the same, I would be shocked (although pleasantly surprised) if he brought in 2 or 3 combative, mentally strong leader types in,...

Yeah it is opinions mate, totally respect the majority I see on here. I would say as the spare centre half in a three he has a lower workload than the others…but yeah he’s being asked to be a b-tech baresi and spray it about…but with league one legs and brain.
Spot on.

Re: Our formation

He’s a good one when he’s on form. He’s pretty inconsistent…just like the team he captains. Barnsley over two legs, first leg he was brilliant, imperious. Second he was bullied and an absolute mess. For me we need a consistent 8/10 man at centre half and we need a leader - he’s the one to replace. ...

Re: Our formation

I'll add to the previous post - there is absolutely nothing wrong with Santos, IMO he's our best player. The stick he got last Saturday was ridiculous, the standing on the ball etc. this was because no one in front of him was moving, he had no options at all, none - he had no one in front of him to...

Re: Our formation

Sat quite close in the bottom tier at the side of the pitch, all 3 midfielders where absolutely abysmal, non existent - yes Paris tried a couple of times to run & create (even with his injury) but that was it, both Sheehan & Thomason hardly moved they were both shocking, as I've said previously it l...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Surely after Saturday's debacle & the obvious fan disappointment and the potential damage done - the club needs to communicate something upbeat to the fans about the future, given Evatt's comments towards the end of the season about taking time to consider his future etc. They can't just do nothing ...
