Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

The failings today are systemic. They are Evatts. He’s had three seasons to build and the problems remain. To get out of this division playing like we are needs considerably better players than we have. You can’t do it. We need a manager who is actually successful - knows what it takes to win and w...

Do we think Ian is here next season?
I don't think he'll be here on Monday.

Inexcusable on every level. Clear out in the summer and start again. A disgrace.
Was hoping to be proved wrong today also. Biggest half of most of their careers up now.

Johnson Clarke-Harris has joined Rotherham.

Hahahahaha....oh god, he's going to be an utter terror under Evans. Get us out of this division :D
Is he going to press from the front though? That was one of Stevenage's strengths this year.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

This season has been weird. Despite scoring 121 goals, I haven't actually found it that enjoyable! On the flip side, despite me moaning (more than most) than our profligate finishing and dubious defending, this is genuinely one of the nicest squads we've had. It'd be a shame to break it up and I thi...

Ethan Erhahon at Lincoln is someone I would like us to look at. Definitely Championship-bound, that lad.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Interested to see Barnsley's retained/released list when it emerges. Per Transfermarkt, among those falling out of contact are Devante Cole, Nicky Cadden, Herbie Kane and Jordan Williams. Jamie McCart's also been listed by Rotherham, whence he was loaned to the Tykes... Maybe they'll all go to Hudd...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Whilst the defence is unquestionably an issue, how much of that is because we are seemingly much more attacking this season? With a total of 121 goals scored this year, it's obvious the trade-off has been with defensive rigidity.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I think we're looking at 4-5 incomings in the summer as opposed to wholesale changes.

Having said that, I would still expect a couple of speculative bids for a few players even upon promotion. The luxury would be, I suppose, that we could ask for more in that instance.

Bye bye, Posh.
I can see them getting picked apart over the summer. Lots of talent there but not the consistency in what will be undoubtedly be a much tougher division next year.

That should have been it.

Oxford look a totally different side to the one we battered 5-0.

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock

Yeah we have to be up for the fight again. If we do the same things, win the physical battles and are focussed then I have no worries. It’s entirely down to our attitude and focus. That’s what winning yesterday gives us. Need to not panic, stay calm, resist what they do and then play from there. Th...

Could honestly have been 4-0, this. Will no doubt end up 2-2.
