Re: The athletics/running thread
For all your doom and gloom predictions AT my knee is actually much better today On day 2. Even stood up to some stretching and work in Pilates this morning. I guess us younger ones just heal quicker or something? :conf: (That said i’ll still be using it as an excuse to skive off runs for a bit yet.)

Re: General Chit Chat
Just sent 3 excited children in for Christmas lunch and jumper day at school and remembering with fondness my own primary school Christmas’. It’s not the same this year, No nativity play, carols, Christmas cards, no bringing in board games but the teacher at school have been doing their best to mak...

Re: The athletics/running thread
A friend has suggested It’s IT band symptoms, it’s a pain in the outside of my right knee. Hate to break it to you GG, it's also old age. There's very few folk around that can get away without stretching, warm ups and cool downs. There's even fewer that can that have entered into their 5th decade. ...

Re: The athletics/running thread
When I said I wouldn’t be walking tomorrow I thought just muscle ache but woke up and man it hurts to move. A friend has suggested It’s IT band symptoms, it’s a pain in the outside of my right knee. Hobbled round two school runs and a dog walk today in quite a bit of pain. My own fault probably for ...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Good going GG. I've stopped completely. Sore hip and complete lack of enjoyment or motivation. Ahhh shame. How long have you had the sore hip? I have no enjoyment or motivation. Running is definitely not my thing but if I take the dog and go with a friend for a chat it’s definitely easier then gett...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Ran 10k tonight. Second time in a month and also the second time in about 18 months  May not be able to walk tomorrow but knocked a couple of minutes off the first ones in ages insanely slow time. Walloped down half a pizza and a Mars icecream afterwards though so fairly sure the weight loss w...

Re: The athletics/running thread
This year's one and only 10K medal run completed on Saturday. Missed my target by one second, which I'll blame squarely on people who put themselves in the wrong time group. It's the time you expect to come in at, not the time you dream of coming in at if you were two stone lighter and bothered to ...

Re: The athletics/running thread
I ran 5 miles tonight. First time since February I have done that distance. Super slow but really pleased with myself. Only set out to do 4 miles but felt ok so we pushed it on. Back out again later in the week for a short one. Hoping twice a week will help with the fitness and my weight!! Well don...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Watching the England Men's game v Belgium. Can I gave a option to filter this out too! Just went to check score. Arsenal vs Chelsea today was 12 down out of 13 in the news stories, below even the NFL... See, you'd be able to find it quicker in it's own section. It's actually 7th on my feed, with li...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Just how exactly has it supposedly ‘attached’ itself to the men’s game?! You should have different magazines for men’s and women’s football You've partially answered your own question there! Playing at mens grounds, included in award ceremonies, generally reported as if it's some kind of equivalent...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I can remember scouring Roy of the Rovers, Tiger, Shoot etc in the late 70s early 80s and once in a blue moon there would be a Wanderers pic in there. Usually, then as now, it was wall to wall Utd, Liverpool, lesser London sides etc. When you were surrounded by kids only too willing to support the ...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
"Match of the day magazine has way more coverage of womens football than it used to" Cant womens football stand on it's own two feet rather than piggy back on the mens game? I suppose I could start tearing pages out of my WSC issue if I want to filter it? The Premier league gets an inordinat...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Been doing your research Worthy?! think even within the premier league the investment in women’s teams is still pretty minuscule compared to what it is in the men’s game. You’re right, average attendances are fairly low still, we have been to a few Arsenal away matches over the past few seasons and ...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Fair enough Worthy. If I’m honest I’m not hugely interested in women’s football in general. It’s Arsenal Women only. Same with men’s. If I switch on the tv and there’s a match on that isn’t us, women’s or men’s, I might watch half heartedly but it’s not the same as watching any of the Arsenal teams....
