Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Iles tweeting this morning that it's very close.

How we pronouncing his name by the way?

Silent L as in Salmon? So Darby? Dolby, as in Thomas or Dall-bi ?

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I thought it was Wayne Jacobs at first glance! The man who out performed Sasa 😀

On Williams - I liked him. Thought he was pacey and offered a different kind of threat, including long throws that SS perhaps wouldn't be afraid of utilising but ultimately as Insane says - too injury prone.

Plymouth tweeted tonight that Muslic has been given permission (reluctantly) to speak to Schalke.

Muslic now confirmed at Schalke. Hopefully, Plymouth will re-appoint Rooney. :D
:D . I'm amazed anyone has appointed him once!

I was surprised to see Barry-Murphy & Buckingham as front runners, ahead of Evatt for the Cardiff job. Evatt's stock must have fallen further than I realised.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

My Sheffield Wednesday supporting colleague reckons we should be in for recently released Joey Phuthi. A lighting quick lad who can play wide either side and who many were expecting to be kept on. He's had a bit of a bad rap from Josh Windass this week for not responding well to being told to run m...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

More of a 'Division Three 2025/26' post perhaps, but Exeter have gone interestingly strong in their condemnation of Caleb Watts for not agreeing to a contract extension. Wonder if he's gone to Plymouth or something? https://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/news/caleb-watts-contract Plymouth confirmed. They'v...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25

Those two Charlton Wycombe games were bad enough to get football stopped. They were in stark contrast to the two Orient Stockport matches.

I've a bit of a soft spot for Charlton but after Nathan Jones performative nonsense last night "Ooh look at me!" I'm rooting for Orient now.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

Report from my Sheffield Wednesday supporting colleague on Tyreeq Bakinson - "He's awful and would be a disastrous signing for you"
Sounds like he started well then lost his way and a similar tale at Wycombe, where news of the link prompted 1 Chairboy to offer to drive him up here.

Re: Contract expiry

Speaking of kids; I see Regan Riley was released by Radcliffe Borough yesterday. There's such a fine line, and a lot of luck, between those that carve a career in football for themselves and those who fall by the wayside.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

I had a nosey on Barnsley's Twitter feed. To a man, they all gave Cosgrove pelters and said he'd been stealing a living. I knew his stats weren't all that but still a surprise to see how unpopular the bloke was. Someone who always looked the part against us (horror tackle on Eoin aside)

Best of luck to Gethin and Ricardo. They've both been excellent signings. We'll do well if a couple of those incoming this summer make as many appearances and have the influence they've had.

The lads coming in over the summer are going to be title winners. YHIHF.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread

To be fair, he didn't walk out on Plymouth to do that (we were both fourth-tier when he left there for here), He left them for us on a Bosman as they'd gone up and we'd gone down didn't he? What a loss he was at the time. We'd had a few days down in Plymouth around the game and seen a miserable loo...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25

I feel similar about Stockport. Small club with no history to speak of who lucked out with a great manager. The sooner he's snapped up by a Championship side and they're back where they belong in the 4th division, the better. If Challinor doesn't get them up this time, I'm sure he will next, and on ...

Re: Pointing the way. Stevenage at home Sat, 3rd May 3-0'clock

I enjoyed that ^ DSB. Cheers.

I had to Google Ezequiel Garay but otherwise a time that's fondly remembered. That cringe inducing, 3 names in the envelope of Rodgers was very much an Evatt type thing and as believable as Ian's "I've had a letter from a fan" & "I don't read social media".

Re: Division Three, 2024/25

All 3 relegated sides will fancy they can bounce back up, particularly Luton with a parachute payment burning a hole in their pockets. Of the promoted lot, I'd think only Bradford would have the potential to challenge at the top end. All 3 of the beaten play off foursome will fancy to go well again....

Re: Pointing the way. Stevenage at home Sat, 3rd May 3-0'clock

What today showed I think - if it needed showing is that we aren’t much if any better than Stevenage. A number of their players would have got in our side today. A decent number. This might be the biggest rebuild since Allardyce arrived and had to sell half a team. Only he had a fair few worth keep...
