When Insults had Class "He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire." - Winston Churchill "A modest little person, with much to be modest about." - Winston Churchill "I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow "He has never ...

Go to LULU them "Browse". Type MORO in the search panel. When it comes up, click on my name. When the next view comes up, click on the book cover and it's at the bottom of the page. Might be Malhotra, I didn't check in my delight. :P Found it. They don't make it easy - how do you know to click the ...

And they don't put the home team's name first.... That confused me. The standard phrase is Toronto at Montreal, hence visitor first. I did find it confusing when I first came here but one quickly adjusts - like looking the correct way when crossing a street. Those who don't adjust tend to Darwin out.

In hockey "own goals" are credited to the last player on the scoring team to touch it which might remove the question of judgement in football. Sounds logical. I watched a lot of ice hockey when in Canada in 2004. The fact that there are three halves to each game is a tad confusing. Only Americans ...

Know I'm a pain, but I just got the first review on my book from an author who has had seven books published, some on highly technical stuff. Here's what they say: Moro by James Morris is a fantasy novel in a completely new style. It is the story of a modern day English Archer who finds himself mag...

Why was England's goal an own goal, when Villa's free kick for Spain's second goal was clearly deflected more significantly by the Ukrainian defender? Just curious. Monty, it'll be because Villa's shot was on target and could possibly have gone in anyway, whereas Beckham's cross, if left unhindered...

Mmm Interesting stuff Monty. There seems to be quite a bit of contradictory info on there though. Did the passengers get into the cockpit and bring the plane down or not? One official scource said no, t'other says they did. Same for whether the pilot was murdered or not. I read only last night that...

And yes, it will be going back tomorrow after the game. And yes, I won't be buying anything from Amazon again if the replacement is no better And yes, I ...

Batman's World Cup Day TalkSport - 7am First brew - 7am Thought that was a little early, Batty, until I remembered that in England a brew is tea, not beer as it is over here. My day is work (sort of) until lunchtime and watch the game (which I called as 3-0 in my prediction league which may have be...

They recovered both boxes from Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania, Harry. Didnt know that. What was heard on the recordings? Has it been made public? There is a school of thought that flight 93 was shot down by the USAF. Only transcripts have been released to the public which show the hi...

In the pool I went for a drawish day. Spain v Ukraine 1-1 Tunisia v SA 2-0 Germany v Poland 1-1 Germany scored in extra time to wipe me out for the day. I thought Poland had scored when the Beeb text said this: 88 mins: Tim Borowski shoots wide from the edge of the area as Germany push forwa...

THE COMMENT WAS PERTINENT TO THE WORLD CUP , NOT THE FECKIN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jee-zus :D True, but you had the correct answer for someone with the club at the time - Nat in 1954. Others scored in the WC and were subsequently acquired by us like Dioufy. I was just answering t...

I don't think Nat ever played in the WC finals. It must be the last time a Bolton player scored an international goal. Nah, because surely Stelios has scored for Greece at some point whilst he's been with us?? Yes, he scored against Spain in the Euro 2004 qualifying. In looking up his record I foun...
