There are 17 chapters/essays on- mostly - French Art of the 19th and 20th centuries. He has an excellent feeling for the work and criticises w...

So my mate opens Bunburys Beers on Wednesday, his new shop specialising in craft beers, real ales and imported lagers. He has on and off-licences so it's a take-out bottle shop and he has 5 beers on tap, ffrom Blackedge, Rivington and the Irwell Works breweries. He's a genuine friendly bloke who lo...

Today i finished Hisham Matar's In the Country of Men .. Booker nominee of 2006 - the unread are slowly diminishing. It is written by a Libyan writer who has spent much of his life outside Libya, and is set in Qadaffi's tyrannical society, with its personality cult, secret police, torture and live e...

Just to join the old gits reminiscence society - I too remember Reeds (a splendid name for a bookshop). Re: Evans knows I'm miserable now - Leeds (H) 24/Oct/15
The first half was high on our better performances list. Mark Davies was underperforming in the first half (injury?) but Dobbie replacing him was a total joke. We were weak in midfield in the second half and under pressure much of the time without Leeds looking like they were really going to hurt us...

I'm willing to wager a lot of money that is what he is trying to do. What a shame that the other team want to prevent us from doing that. This is a rather pointless comment. Yes it is a competitive sport. But that is the job. Perhaps Sam should just give up at Sunderland cos of the unfortunate situ...

Prince has a Zat Knight mistake-a-game habit but he's still the best defender we have - so play him FFS. That won't solve much - we are weak all over the team - but Dervite last night was an embarrassment. Dervite was an interesting one Once he'd been booked and been let off, he should've been subb...
