Re: Brexit or Britin
It's legal to set your own tax rates. You can set them at zero if you wish. It's illegal to give preferential tax rates that amount to a subsidy and are unavailable to all. The EU have been very clear on both these points. Not clear enough to prevent Ireland, and others, to have been doing this for...

It's been a scam the Irish have pulled for almost 20 years. That, plus the English language and a barely credible belief by the US population that they are all Irish really, are the reason the US Companies like Apple, Intel, Microsoft etc., etc. have based themselves there. BUT it's been well tested...

Alonso was utter wank. Couldn't defend to save his life. Direct matter about the rest in that position. Bet Damian Duff fancies coming out of retirement! He had a poor game away at Fulham once. Did you see him other than that? He left us just as he was developing into a very fine defender and all r...

Gene Wilder, age 83. I guess it's a generational thing but in the 70's he was a God-like figure in comedy films. The Producers, Blazing Saddles andYoung Frankenstein, Willie Wonka & Everything You Want To Know About Sex. Saw him interviewed a couple of times ... a very uncomfortable experience as he...

I hope we got a sell-on clause. A cut of €25m is a lot of money these days, especially in our current predicament. I think he just left at the end of his contract. Not sure. He did. Joined Sunderland on a Bosman. Fiorentina, who later loaned him to Sunderland. Well argued. I don't see how he's impr...

Disappointed to see Smalling there. Drinkwater .... well, it was unbelievable that Woy didn't select him in the summer. Antonio ... probably a result of us being 2nd divisons off the pace but, frankly, I'd not know him if he rang my door bell. No injured players in the squad ? Where's our Jack ? And...

Feck that. My nuptials are costing a tiny wedge in the great scheme of things. Probably just as well given my record. A mate of mine coughed up 22 grand a year ago for his daughter's wedding. They split last month. We're going to another do at Houghton Towers next month which has had 12 months prep...

I'm thinking someone may be worried about their forthcoming(latest!) nuptials not measuring up. Never mind the worry when little miss BB ties the knot. If there's no accordion player, half bottles of champers or free bar at either - I'll be kicking off! You could run to the half bottles of Champers...

^^^ a symptom of the Princess generation. In this case an exceptional one, even of its type. I despair at times if what this will engender in that person's personality. Anyone who's on Facebook will have witnessed a case of the obsessive bride-to-be who, over 18 months or more, takes you painfully t...

I went to a hotel many years ago who's wine policy was to make £5 (I'd guess £15-20 in today's money).on a bottle of wine. So if you bought a £5 wine you paid £10. A £20 wine cost £25. They were encouraging you to try down the card and experience better wines.
Always thought that was a good policy.

Good God. Nigel Pearson really is a complete cock and one of the most obnoxious men in football. His post match interviews irritate the life out of me. I'm glad he got sacked by Leicester and that fairytale happened without him. Wanker! I don't disagree ... but what, specifically, brought this one ...

So, easy-peasy. Suspend the contracts of any player ill or injured or banned or simply playing shite ... even BEING shite and we're sorted.

Well put Barnet. It's a bugger when it hits home ... and more so when we don't know the rules in detail, or how it affects us in particular. If it remains the case that we've only presented a homeopathic version of the accounts then we need to sort that out. Meanwhile, nil desperandum. There were pl...
