Re: Tonight's Football
Back from The Arsenal and a much less nervy visit this week. Going into the break 8 points clear at the top, how has this happened?!

Re: Tonight's Football
Back from The Emirates after a very painful 96 minutes of football. Thankfully the 97th minute made up for the previous 96! Buzzing now. I love football! (The pulled pork roll I had on the way back to the station was pretty darn awesome too!)

Re: Tonight's Football
I wouldn't be too downcast. You went toe-to-toe with them and they took their chances and you didn't. There's only really Liverpool in recent times been able to do that to them (rather than defending well and hoping you get the breaks). Haaland is a freak, that was a great watch, and you weren't fa...

Re: Tonight's Football
I think they have too much strength in depth for us. We bought on Fabio Vieria, they bring on Phil Foden. We really missed Jesus tonight. Nketiah having a form dip and we didn’t really look like scoring. No out and out strikers on the bench. Wish we could recall Balogun who’s tearing up Ligue 1 on l...

Ugh. That was painful. Expected but still painful!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 9:31 pmErling Haaland is a ridiculous physical specimen. I mean obviously Rico would pocket him, but can't think of many others who would. What a player.

Used to do chicken rescues with him when he lived nearer to me but he’s moved several times now I think and we lost touch.

Re: Tonight's Football
Up at Arsenal yesterday to watch us concede a goal from a free kick that shouldn’t have been, that was blatantly offside! We didn’t play well and probably didn’t deserve the win, but VAR is a joke 😤 It’s also ruined the spectacle of the game. I’ve long since thought this, but it was never more evid...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Still zero running for me but have been embracing the exercise classes, Pilates, Grit, legs bums and tums and spin amongst others. Have to hope it’s helping a bit!

I’m also going to cheer you lot on with Burnden Paddock as I’ve not been to Charlton before and like a new London away ground! Obviously hoping it’s up to the quality of football I’ve been watching at The Emirates this season

Re: Tonight's Football
Those 2 games Arsenal have to play v City are going to be nervy for you GG! Every game is nervy at the moment. Everton have lost their manager and we play them next in the league. You just know they will win against us now! The advantage Arsenal have right now is they are playing with nothing to lo...

Re: Tonight's Football
I can't remember what the clauses we still have regarding Holding are, so I've no idea if we'll get anything if he goes this window. Ken cashed them all in early didn't he? Re: Tonight's Football
Not got any more players in central defence recently, Kiwior is that player. I don't know how that affects Rob, but I do know he has concrete offers if he decides he needs to move on and play more. Ahhh, he’s not been technically announced yet, but was at the game today so likely a done deal. We sh...

Re: Tonight's Football
I’d be surprised if he did go. Seems quite happy to be back up and is thought of very highly in the dressing room I think, excellent squad player, I hope we keep him. Always been well liked at Arsenal, but he has had offers for a while and it'll be interesting to see what happens now they have more...

Re: Tonight's Football
Though they've got City (A), Chelsea (H) and Newcastle (A) late April, early May which would be a hilarious collapse. It took work behind the scenes for Edu to get more control over transfers, but the squad he's now building with that influence should keep them from dropping off too much. Kiwior is...
