Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
With reports suggesting administrators hope to have a new owner in place by the end of the month, I really don't see how we put a team together in time for the next season. We may bundle 11 or so players through the door, but it will be a long time before we have anything like a team - regardless of...

Re: Contract expiry
Think my optimism actually comes from pessimism, in that I think the step up our youth are going to have to take is going to continue to get smaller...

Re: Contract expiry
I note Brockbank isn’t one - is that because of his age? Not so much his age as his contract. He's on a pro deal, whereas Connell etc are Academy "scholars". These are (some of?) the younger players on pro contracts that we were made aware of earlier in the thread. Expiring 2019: Jake Turner (pro, ...

Re: The next manager
I get both sides of the argument here. Regardless of age or experience, ultimately I want someone who is going to be here a long time, looking to build from one season to the next, rather than survive with panic buys and maybe men that never feel part of the actual club. I want seven players that y...

Re: The next manager
I've always thought Kev Nolan would be good for us from a L1 starting again position - once the chairman situation is sorted obviously. If I recall, he didn't do too badly at other clubs and had his fair share of board room oddities didn't he? Combine his place in the club's history with his demand ...

Re: If Bolton Wanderers imploded tomorrow...
Yeah, fair enough. You can't just fake enthusiasm and hope it becomes genuine one day. If, for arguments sake, the spiritual successor was set up by some of the BWFC legends in the current back room - David Lee etc, would you be drawn to that?

Re: If Bolton Wanderers imploded tomorrow...
Really interesting take BWFCI. Feels like a lot of what you say is a symptom of modern day football, and I completely get what you're saying. Do you follow non-league at all? Might be closer to how it used to be. For me, the feeling of alienation came with the journeymen. I do feel it has improved i...

If Bolton Wanderers imploded tomorrow...
If Bolton Wanderers were to finally buckle tomorrow and disappear from the face of English football completely, what would you do as a football fan? Pick an option from the poll and explain your decision - particularly if you think you might support another club. A new, phoenix from the ashes, grass...

I've clearly simplified history in my head. In that case, Manager: Magic 8 BallDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:57 pmWhile I liked Mjallby, the team had gone off the rails before that.

Re: Relegation XI
A TW poster who had the hots for hunky Johan All I know is, Lennon went off the rails along with the team once Johan left... Any other qualities are a bonus  Might just fit the postman in there somewhere, with a bit of punch on the end of his deliveries. Forgot Morais! Good call. I'd be tempte...

Re: Relegation XI
A bold move. For me, I wouldn't be able to pass on trying to get Clough, Alf, LCY and Ameobi in the same team with Juke as a target. Would love to get Mavies in there too but we'd need some midfield aggression and let's assume Mavies is injured anyway. And with all that B-class creativity, I couldn'...

Relegation XI
Turning a usually happy concept on its head so that it's sad and grey but hopefully still fun, who would make your 'best of the rest' squad from the players we've had since we dropped out of the Prem?
Pick a starting team, five subs and a manager.
