Re: Bolton v Forest thread
For Team GB Sordell looked sharp, mobile and positive. Here he's ponderous, slow and playing with his head down. It basically sums up our entire predicament under Coyle. I don't believe we have bad players. We've got no coherence, no spirit and no plan. It's down to the manager. We're desperately po...

Re: Bolton v Derby
See the thing is people who know football can understand what KD brings to the game. He utilizes years of experience to appear to be static whereas actually mentally he is very mobile. He is thinking about all those pointless runs that would lead nowhere and choosing to conserve his energy for the ...

Re: mark davies
Our only fit player who can play a decent pass or make a vaguely threatening run at a defence and some people want to sell him on for a £5m? That will buy you, ooh, another David N'Gog.
Why do you even give a shit about the club making a small profit on him?

Re: women's lympic footie
Great second half in the USA vs Canada game. Which is the better attacking trio, Wambach, Morgan and Rapinoe or Davies, N'Gog and Eagles? I'm being half serious here :) I'm glad you are as I was sat here thinking that Canada's Christine Sinclair could definitely do a job for us! Some of those girls...

Apologies, I meant Simon CharltonPrufrock wrote:He seemed very very good for a while. I don't think he was, he was OK, but he came in to replace Gerald Cid, so it isn't hard to see why we all thought he was Bobby Moore (Charlton, Quiffter?)!

Re: Portsmouth away, 4th August
First things first: no way in hell would Souness manage us, certainly while Phil Gartside remains at the club, and probably not at all. He's exceedingly happy in Sandbanks (near 'Arry), keeping himself busy and remunerated working for Sky and RTE. Seems to have had no interest in returning to footb...

I seem to recall when he first missed a few games through injury it was like we had lost Bobby Charlton. Did very very well for us for a while, then faded.

Re: New official BWFC website
Does every site now have to be designed like it's a mobile 'app' for ADD-addled teens to mindlessly click and swipe from one consumer experience to the next? I'm an adult, I'll have a website please. Site's very very poor. As for whoever did that Premium TV deal, I can only genuflect. What a twisted...

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Daily Mail says we are interest in Ben Haim... I really, really hope and expect that's just a load of bollocks. The guy could have left Portsmouth without stealing a living from them long ago, and found a new club immediately on a decent wage. Instead he's really milked the situation for all it's w...

Re: Sordell wants a place in the starting line up
Having said that I think there would be a lot more evidence required before we start declaring him as "clearly better" than NGog or Davies. Least he got some game time. Can he control a football? Check. Can he pass a football? Check. Can he run (with or without a football) and not fall over? Check....

Re: Sordell wants a place in the starting line up
If the lad is playing as a lone striker up front for great britain he should be a mile ahead of our other options. I was willing to give Coyle the benefit of the doubt in thinking he wasnt ready to be thrown into a relegation fight but if stuart pierce thinks he can hold a few nation's hopes on his...

why do the police need to give him a bo**ok**ng over writing a crap poem about are rubbish manager, sounds like GM police are over funded to me You're missing the point Dan, it's not about the poem. It's about abusing a member of the club shop online repeatedly and as an employee of the club he ask...

So Marv is considered ready to play at the Olympics, but not up to playing half of a dour game at the Reebok. Only on Planet Coyle.

Still one of my all time heroes. That question about "who would you most like to meet" that people usually have to answer Nelson Mandela too? I'd answer "Bruce Rioch" every time! I only went to two games under Phil Neal and all I remember about them was how numb my feet were in the freezing cold. Th...

Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
Anyway, back to the OP. He spent £3m on Sordell (and £4.5 on N'gog). That's money we haven't got and didn't have allegedly. Sat the bloke on the bench - the why's and wherefore's are fairly inconsequential. £3m on a bench sitter when we were looking likely to get relegated. Just. Fcuking. Bizarre. ...

Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
All Coyle has to do is explain his team selections to us. He can start with the one .v. Wiggin at home in January. His mysterious treatment of Muamba, his love of Pratley, his persistence with Robinson, his personal vendetta against Steinsson, his persistence with Knight and (S)KD, lack of play giv...

Re: OC says Marv to be given a chance this season
I don't think Coyle is a great manager but he isn't anywhere near as bad as some make out. He's had a pretty successful career up until he got us relegated. At this point, someone usually chimes in with "THAT'S THE POINT HE GOT US RELEGATED" or whatever, but there are reasons behind that. Had we sc...
