Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

We controlled the game and would have come away with an important point until Jones rush of blood running out of his covering position. What was he thinking? Hard to break down 10 men sitting on their 18 yard box. Their strategy worked to perfection.

Hoping for the best but fearing the worst. Evatt will continue to tinker with the side and everything is a lottery. Who will he pick, I have no idea... except for Coleman.

From reports he recently signed a new contract to 2025 so definately not on his way out.

Thomason is a must start for me. He is our best and most combative midfielder and fresh.

He is "much better", even at 31 from an individual skill and ability perspective but based on how Evatt wants his players to run in his system, not sure even Messi at 36 would be a sure pick in our first 11.

Agree that Sheehan "looks" world-class when he has space to play. Struggles badly when teams get physical and aggressive on him. That's his weakness.

And he's not particularly what's needed. We don't play with a 10, and even for the jobs closest to that role we've already got other players like CMG, Collins and Bod. As Dibs says, smells like agent talk. Morrison is much better than these players, and can play in a no. 6 Sheehan role also if asked.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Morrison was a regular for Jamaica over the last couple years. In recent times he has been dropped, really because he no club. Still very talented and did not cause us any problems to mention. His control and ability to see and make a pass is still in tact. Seems to have matured over the years. As t...

Re: There's a Moose loose about these U's Take Twos. Cambridge United Away. 20/02/2024

Noticeable difference in the second half. We increased the tempo and Cambridge struggled to compete. I have no idea why of late our first half performances have been so lame. There were no changes at half time so Evatt probably read the riot act. Jones was my Man of the Match. Didn't put a foot wron...

Re: Red cards and Red Kits, Bolton v Charlton - 17th Feb 2024 3pm

I have not been impressed with Paris in the past with his little moments of flashes, nor his inability to tackle, nor his inability to shoot...but thankfully, and credit to the Manager and the player, he is definitely improving and can be a game winner based on his skills and ability to go past play...

Re: Red cards and Red Kits, Bolton v Charlton - 17th Feb 2024 3pm

I don't care what Derby, Posh or any other team is doing. Win our games and we go up. Right now, we are not playing well because our best players are either injured or suspended. Baxter, Santos, Thomason, Charles. Few teams are able to win games without their best players. We need them back. First h...

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

The thing about the style is teams have really optimised the press against us. Press high then drop off if we get comfortable possession out wide or in midfield. They aren’t being drawn out and the hybrid press is a) causing us issues from the back and b) making it very hard when we do manage to ge...

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

Needed those 3 pts and we did it. Much better 2nd Half than the first. I thought Paris had his best game for us. He was involved throughout his time on the pitch rather than in patches. JDC was superb and DadBod showed how to control a ball under pressure. Happy for his goal and Jones header was sup...

Re: Wandering, Why come back home? Bolton v Wycombe - 13th Feb 2024 19:45pm

Evatt should always seek to play his best side. I am not a big rotation fan barring injury and possibly fatigue. Footballers always want to play every game. I thought for example, red zone or not, JDC should have played. We suffered for not having him on the field. I thought Collins should have star...

Re: A Load of Cobblers. Away to Northampton Sat, 10th Feb.3-0'clock.

Cogley a big miss. Defenders lookig like they never have played together in a game. Maybe that's a fact. I would take off the front 2 for the 2nd half..giving us nothing. Did we pay so much for Collings to keep him on the bench? Coleman not inspiring confidence in our defenders and we are playing it...

Re: Alas poor Yor(i)k, I knew it well. Home v Barnsley, Sat Feb 3rd, 3-0' clock.

Terrible schoolboy ball watching error by Maghoma who lost his man for the goal. His defending has been his weakness and its not improving. Struggling to create a chance despite dominating the ball. Taylor is a good player, his pinpoint passing into the midfield is a joy. Demps control and aggressio...

Re: To be continued. Home to Cheltenham, Tues Jan 23rd , 7-45.

The team is running on empty but found a way to win. Fixture pile up taking its toll on the players now. Williams, Santos, Thomasson, Dempsey and Sheehan all seemed to be carrying injuries by the end of the game. With games coming fast and furious, having games in the hand is no comfort as we way no...

Evatt saying that at the end of the window hopefully everyone will be happy, I couldnt shake the feeling that a key personnel will leave (Bod, Vic, Charles, Thomo? ) to fund some attractive options coming in.

Re: South to East (London, that is) Leyton Orient away Sat 20th Jan 3-0'clock..

The effort against Luton has clearly taken its toll. Leyton are fresh, but we still got the best chance of the game. Keep digging in the 2nd half. We are missing our wing backs attacking. Ade doing huge work. Thomason being closely watched by their #8. Got some joy towards the end. Need to see Demps...

Many thanks for the link Dj. What a performance by the team. Sheehan was world class. Superb!! Every player gave everything to the end and showed their quality. They had me in awe at times. Show this consistently every week and we will win L1 by some distance.
