Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Excited about this signing now. That highlights package seemed a lot better than the one I watched. Some of those longshots are stunningly skilled and he seems more mobile than I recall. He'll give goalkeepers nightmares evil little elf he is... Seems to play predominantly through the middle. Do we...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

My first post on here for about 7 years. Personally I'd be very disappointed if we lost Ameobi as I think he'd likely improve for playing in a more technically minded team. I'd also see it as a worrying sign if we're not able to offer reasonable wages to a player like him, as it would seem a strong...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

At this moment my interest is in whether we keep both Ameobi and Morais, keep one, or get rid of both, given the mood Phill is in at this moment. As DSB said earlier, we have the luxury of 3 right wingers in the first team (Ameobi, Morais and Noone) and one left winger (Buckley). At this moment we h...

Re: Championship 2017/18: the bookies' view

I normally dismiss the odds at the beginning of the season for Bolton, only to have egg in my face when they prove to be almost spot on. They clearly know something that I don't at the start. Are these odds for next season suggesting that they know we have no money and will continue to seek out out ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I've got a mate who is an fc-utd fan - where King was sent on loan - going from what he said - King was a cut above anyone else they had on their books I don't get it - we spend loads on developing players like Jeff King - and then never get a bean for them - just let their contracts run down and n...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Alfie's best mate. I hope it doesn't affect him (Alfie) negatively. Was on my release list because we need better in midfield to compete next season in the Championship.

Re: Shaking like a leaf, oh no have I got Parkinson's? Home to Forest 12:30 Sun 6th May 2018

Well, I am half way around the world and watched it on my phone. It was incredible. After Forests 2nd goal, I accepted our fate and my misery for the next month until the World Cup. Then it happened, then the magic moment happened. I still watch that 3rd goal with commentary over and over again. I a...

That's why we love this game !! We could not have written this script! Unlikely hero AW and the bravery of PP to play him from the start to unsettle Forrest. And Alfie, fantastic!! Tears of joy. What a great feeling being a BWFC fan today! Congratulations all!!

Re: A survival party brewing, or will we be drowning our sorrows? Burton v BWFC 28/4/2018 3pm

Lets not fool ourselves. Recently we have looked like a very poor team. Even Ameobi seems to have lost the ability to control a football with his feet and everyone else is afraid to hold unto the ball for another second to pick a good pass, preferring to get rid of it quickly... anywhere. Something ...

I do believe in miracles. Survival is still in our hands. Will we drop the catch or hold unto it? Stay tuned.

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

We can beat Burton and Forest if we turn up, but the momentum is currently against us regardless of our current 2 point cushion - we're at the bottom of the 5 game form table and Burton are a worrying 9th. With them beating (and relegating) Sunderland the wind is thoroughly in their sails. They'll ...

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

Must say that I am not confident about survival. We have lost the plot completely recently, and if I were a Burton fan, I would be thinking a home win banker, especially with our away record, and the fact that they have already beaten us this season in our yard. Their players must feel that they hav...

Re: Will we be beating the Blues, or singing the blues? BWFC v Birmingham 3/4/18 8pm

I thought we were dreadful. It was like playing volleyball. No one wanted to settle the ball and play it on the ground to one of their teammates unless it was back to Alnwick. Nobody played well in my opinion. Its still in our hands, but we will have to stop playing like nervous wrecks to earn the r...

We need not be concerned with the results of the other teams below us. Its totally in our hands. We need to take care of the business.

Re: We are (hopefully) staying up: the opposition

It seems to me that we have 3 key games - Burton Barnsley and Birmingham. If we win all 3 - we will be certain to stay up. We would have 48 points and they would all have one game less to catch us. They will be the 3 hardest games we have left to play. Teams battling relegation fight for their lives.

Re: Release or retain?

Both Alnwick and Henry have to be the leading contenders for player of the year. Henry joining was the turning point in our season and Alnwick has made some unbelievable saves at crucial times that kept us in it. We must keep them.

Re: Will a chilla on the Hilla versus Villa be a thrilla...? Home V Aston Villa, Sat 17th Mar. 5-30.

In retrospect, neither Karajan or Morais were even in the squad Saturday. Are both injured? Parky got it right without a doubt, but it just seemed a bit odd. If we were expecting a harder battle; more defensive minded, surely Noone at least was a bit of an odd selection over either, with Wilbraham ...

Re: Can we get out of Gaol at Reading, or will we go home Wilde? Reading v B.W.F.C, 6TH March 8-0'clock.

Happy that PP discarded the 3-5-2 for the more solid 4-2-3-1 and strengthening the side with some steel (Flanagan, Taylor, Henry, Kirchhoff), pushing Pratley further forward and leaving out Vela who has not been up to it for a while. We now look like a solid team with good options on the Bench. Surp...
