Re: Looking forward

Financial prudence is certainly the way forward, but that's nowt new: one man's panacea can be another man's poison. Freedman loaned out Coyle's overpaid underplayed gravy-trainers like Andrews; Lennon's doing the same with Spearing; Freedman even did it with his own bloke, Baptiste. I dare say who...

Re: Looking forward

In fairness pru I initially meant as in free transfer but that won't happen due to their contracts. There's always the chance mavies will stay fit but it seems very unlikely . He's averaged 14 league games a season and shoulder and knee problems don't improve with age . Trotter might go on a free if...

Re: Looking forward

You talk a lot of sense as ever dsb but if the opportunity to move wheater on and free up part of his wages comes about I would hope we take it. Lennon has said a lot of nice things about Mavis as he did about cyl. A lot will depend on whether bannan comes in. It's not a case of not rating Mavis or ...

Re: Looking forward

Wheater Mavis and trotter could be released to cut the wage bill. I really doubt it. If we sign bannan I can't see Mavis being in the same 11. Given Mavis injury record we'd be better off cutting our losses . If we don't sign bannan Mavis is still likely to break down . If we are lucky he may manag...

Looking forward

What sort of squad are we likely to put together for next season ? With so many players at the end of contract and so many loans in and out and the financial restraints it's pretty messy. Would be interesting to know what folk think. Of the loans in janko and amos are viable and we've already signed...

Forsooth, is that a tractor I see before me ?

Sounds like a number of players will be rested for this one. The tractor appears to be struggling in mud though Ipswich are still playing well, just missing their chances . Likely to be a physical, ugly game with an unfamiliar line up. Danns suspended so quite possible that slavchev will get a chanc...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

I thought their keeper made the first one easy for alf though it was still a good finish . Keeper was in no mans land and appeared to have forgotten where his goal was. You are forgetting also that our goals are always due to good play and the ones we concede are always due to errors . :)

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

Seeing those highlights we haven't lost our gift for comedic defending . Two good finishes from le fondre and cravies looked threatening . Good to see walker being given an opportunity to take some set pieces . Implies he is part of the set up and has the respect of the senior players as clough did ...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

I think if he likes playing for the manager and has good advisors he will be looking at developing and establishing himself at a level where he is played regularly and appreciated without having immense pressure . All Lennon needs to do us point at the increasing number of youngsters whose careers h...

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread

I think we can but I don't think we will . We have slavchev , danns , coke , bannan and trotter available for the two centre mid spots already so it may be that vela plays right back in most games with threlkeld and white possibly also getting a look in . Lennon already knows what vela has to offer ...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

It ain't necessarily so . He has a three year contract so he won't go anywhere unless we want him to and I'd expect him to be here at least two seasons . There's no real point in players moving to big clubs to play in the stiffs so unless he really develops and is at a premier league level in two ye...

And pretty much safety . Sounded like walker did quite well. Three home grown players coming through in one season . Unheard of !

Re: Remaining Fixtures

I rate Alfie! Hard working forward who can score goals. Got a feeling though he will be out of our price range! I get the feeling that he wants to stay imo Think you're right on both counts . Would need a fair bit of compromise I suspect but he won't be staying at Cardiff , he's unlikely to go up a...

Quite possible that trotter or coke will come on for danns , sounds like he's on for a sending off otherwise .

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

Can only assume he's worried about cravies and Heskey being fit to play 90 mins . At least cravies gives us potential impact from the bench . Better to have 30 mins at full pelt against tiring defenders I guess . A gudjohnsen hat tick would be nice . I can't see him being kept on next season as a pl...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

It does look likely that amos will be signed and first choice next season and bogdan looks likely to go . If he's backing amos it makes sense to play him until the loan is up and we look properly safe . After which the extra loan spot gives some flexibility . The implication seems to be that amos so...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

Lennon suggesting that we may see rochinha and slavchev feature in the next few games . Seems unlikely today as amos McCarthy bannan janko and alf are all likely to start . The only changes look like bannan in for coke and cravies for Heskey . He could risk starting trotter ahead of danns but that s...

Re: No one likes them, do we care? Millwall Home.

Indeed a return to the positive vibes of lennon's early days . Cravies has been a big loss. May have been a bigger factor in the run than people realised.misses chances but energy movement and presence are vital . No coincidence that without pratley and Davies around the pressing game went to pot .
