Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I like Ogbeta personally, but I would like to see us sign a next-level WB on both sides. We knew last summer we needed one on the right - hence K*ne W*lson - and I think we need a Randell rival on the left. Whether Oggy's that, I dunno.
Of course, if we're switching to a back four....

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
A switch to a 4-3-3 hinders Johnston, Dion and Santos. Randell would become a winger. Our fullback options would be Cogley, Iredale and Jones as things stand. Your front 3 is probably Vic, Collins and CMG. Midfield is Thommo, Sheehan and Dempsey. Back four would be Iredale, Johnston, Toal and Cogle...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
^^ I think for me, Bertie, if he's going to go, either under his own steam or otherwise, we just need it to occur quickly. We've been told plenty that a minority or just a few not rights want him gone, but this little survey (obviously not statistically representative) suggests there might be a few...

We've been told plenty that a minority or just a few not rights want him gone, but this little survey (obviously not statistically representative) suggests there might be a few more wanting change than we're led to believe... That's why I did the poll, to assess the general feeling including among ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Simple question for those who are (understandably) asking for a back four: who's your one central striker, in either the 4-3-3 or the 4-2-3-1? If it's Charles, and let's be honest he's easily our best source of goals, how does that help the total lack of 'stickability' we saw on Saturday? If it's no...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
On the Evatt criticism, I hear what you say regarding players on the pitch to sort it, but I often wonder where the balance is between them taking an "executive decision" (like 2 8's dropping deeper) vs what they've been told to do through the week. It's not like the manager isn't right there next ...

OK. We need four players for next season. Who are they, or what types?

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
That was awful. Properly, properly awful. Oxford fans on the tube platform were genuinely mystified by "how shit" we were. They were not alone at all. Tactically... sheesh. Our back three didn't have the stones to pass it forward, but in their (ha) defence they didn't have anybody to pass to. Why? •...

Barnsley release Devante Cole (29), Jordan Williams (24), Robbie Cundy (26), Herbie Kane (25) and Nicky Cadden (27). Feels like they're battening down the financial hatches. Sunderland release Corry Evans (33), Bradley Dack (30), Jack Diamond (24) and Ellis Taylor (21). Preston release Greg Cunningh...

Tickets sorted - the Mighty Flanners treating me for my 50th birthday (it was, you may recall, the day after the first leg). We will, obviously, be tracing precisely the same transport route we did for the Pizza Cup final, and indeed sitting in very similar seats (they were level with 18-yard line, ...

Only once did we break through the 50,000 barrier in the 70s and yes, that was Everton for the league cup. Just once did we surpass 40,000 in the league (Sunderland 1975) Utd, City and Liverpool in the league were all healthy 30,000 + crowds but obviously included a high number of away supporters. ...

I’m nervous but determined to go and enjoy the day. I really hope everyone else on here who is going enjoys it as do those who aren’t. I’m not ashamed to admit the last few months have been personally very tough for family reasons I won’t go into and it’s taken a big toll on me personally. Whatever...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I've really enjoyed this season. Some great games, goals, occasions etc. Feck ups v Wigan, disgraceful reffing performance at Blackpool and a general feeling that we're a better side than our points tally, aside - there haven't been many better. The whole memory though, and whether its been a succe...
