Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

Process & performance gets you nowhere if you don't get the points - more evidence of Evatt's robotic approach.

I assume everyone will be content with more seasons in League 1 as long as Evatt is happy with the process & performance, regardless of results ?

Re: This Exe is on fire: Exeter (A) Sat 9 Mar, 3pm

I'd say we're at the point wherw we need to find a way to win and stick with it. What gets me is we don't do the bollocks that Exeter did when they went 2-1 up. When they equalised a "stoppage" in play would've allowed us to regroup and maybe let Evatt have a word. Thing is we don't manage the game...

Re: This Exe is on fire: Exeter (A) Sat 9 Mar, 3pm

It's the inability to play for more than half a game for me, it happens almost every game - we just can't play for 90 mins. Current form is horrendous, and the same defensive mistakes happen game after game. I'd love to know what Evatt's half time team talks are like because in a lot of games we sta...

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

Surely the last 30 mins should be the blue print for the last 10 games - the attacking play, speed, tempo, intensity was excellent, the finishing needs to improve as we miss so many costly easy chances but when they play like that no one in the league would handle us, we ripped Barnsley to pieces, t...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I think the problem is the players were not empowered to think for themselves and abandon the system to change the game. I am sure Evatt was thinking get the ball in the box more - hence why Sheehan went off for Jerome. But there is a coaching failure that meant they weren’t comfortable doing that....

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I don’t get the use of Jerome if you aren’t just going to wallop it into the box desperation style to be honest. Using him as a sub and not changing the style is on that list of things that baffle me about Bolton. But really disappointed in JDB - that suggests he didn’t look for the ball either - h...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

The lack of tactical flexibility is hurting us i.e. Evatt's tactical ability / naivety I know that he's obsessed with 5-3-2, but in games like last night when the opposition have no real intention of attacking and are ultra defensive, do we really need 3 CB's - surely last night after it was obvious...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

They had to make up for the reverse fixture, they haven’t, they can all feck off for me. Sell the lot of them. I honestly don't think that we have any players or members of the coaching staff that I'd lose sleep over them leaving & that includes Evatt. Totally agree with Dibs they can all go for me...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I think Wigan try to play a similar style of football to us Bertie - watch it from behind the sofa!! Dibs, I will have to differ - they don't play as slowly as us or pass it sideways & backwards as much and as slowly as we do, they also have several players with fire in their bellies who get stuck ...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I will be shocked if we win this (although I really hope we do), however I just can't see it - our players don't appear to have the right mentality to win games like this & also our style of football doesn't help in these derby games as we don't move the ball quick enough to counter the 'in your fac...

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

Slightly surprised we’ve not seen Forrester yet - he’s a very good defender and I think he might help our lack of solidity at the back. Assuming Santos is back on Tuesday, I’d be looking at starting Forrester at RCB, and either Toal or Iredale at LCB. Agree 100% - Forrester is a far better RCB than...

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

In my opinion it's because Evatt is so set in his ways (formation, tactics etc.), surely they do due diligence before these signings and discuss how they will fit in with the way Evatt likes to play, and if not how they would need to tweak the system to get the best out of them. All new players need...

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

^^ I suspect the main point TD, is that we're not likely to very significantly adapt from "beautiful football" to "playing them at their own game" because our players aren't built that way (I think is the popular narrative). Should we get a result on Tuesday, it's likely that'll be from trying roug...

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

I'm more worried about Evatt signing a £3/4M player with the most assists in the league to get us over the line, and then not play him. Similarly with Ogbeta & Ramsey they will never get used to how we play if we don't play them. Whoever bought Evatt a new bingo machine at Xmas has a lot to answer f...

I'd be surprised if he got "hauled" off as a result of his performance. Of the 2 strikers, Vic was far better than Collins today
He got poked in the eye and couldn't see properly - that's why he was brought off.

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

Hats off to the club, an excellent Jan window in the end, all 4 are very good players. There will be no more questions from me in regards to the Bond funds. They (FV, Evatt, Markham etc.) have been clever and saved some money to see where we are in Jan and have now provided the funds to try and get ...

Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

We are still in an excellent position to gain an automatic spot, but the gamble to go in light in the summer is now catching up. We will not get a better chance than this IMO. It's not my money to spend but there must be some of the bond money left (there has to be....) and the Swiss investment mone...

Well no one had any inside knowledge last time you asked about the £4.5m, Bertie, so I'm not any more hopeful this go! :-) Hart did recently say they're looking at upgrading the sound system, so you'll be able to hear The Wanderer better as the pre-match walk on. Yay. That wouldn't surprise me, it ...

Re: South to East (London, that is) Leyton Orient away Sat 20th Jan 3-0'clock..

So Santos is back to being a pub player. Vic presumably was a liability again. Squad isn't big enough. Players we do have aren't good enough. Our manager is crap. I suppose all we're missing to make BWFCi happy is being able to blame poor Dan.... But, as he also points out (regularly....), it's dea...
